Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved method of de-jittering MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 data that is transmitted over a network. First, a network system jitter associated with periodic reference data packets is estimated. Then, the estimated system jitter is used to adjust clock-stamped reference values in the data packets before they are provided to the PLL for clock synchronization. The invented de-jittering method improves the PLL's ability to synchronize the MPEG data and provides for a better quality playback.

Abstract:
The disclosure is a routing method for data in a personal area network. The personal area network includes a plurality of nodes. The method includes receiving a frame at a node, determining whether the node contains a routing table entry for the frame destination, and when the node contains a routing table entry, determining a route for the frame based on a first routing protocol. The method further includes, when the node does not contain a routing table entry for the frame destination, determining whether a route should be discovered for the frame destination, and when a route should not be discovered, determining a route for the frame based on a second routing protocol.

Abstract:
Provided is a method of supporting node portability in a sensor network, wherein data transmission to a portable node can be guaranteed since even when the portable node is assigned with a different address by being associated with another network, the newly assigned address is transmitted to a parent node or a sink node that was previously associated with the portable node.

Abstract:
A communication apparatus, wherein the communication apparatus selects a superframe from W consecutive superframes, and starts each of the W consecutive superframes without transmitting a beacon in a first time period of each of the W consecutive superframes when a superframe to be started is different from the selected superframe.

Abstract:
Provided is a method of minimizing power consumed by each node in a wireless network when communicating with neighboring nodes. Unlike a conventional synchronous media access control (MAC), the present invention suggests an asynchronous MAC. Thus, the active duration of a node extends only when transmitting a large quantity of data and the extended active duration returns to the minimum active duration again after completing the data transmission.

Abstract:
A communication apparatus includes an antenna which receives data frames from transmitters; at least one correlator, each of which is associated with a single identification code and detects a frame corresponding to the identification code from the data frames; and a reserved correlator which detects an acknowledge (ACK) frame from the transmitters corresponding to at least one correlator.

Abstract:
A receiving apparatus for retransmission diversity includes: a sum module generating a second signal by summing up a first signal and at least one retransmitted signal of the first signal, when a first packet determined by the first signal received from a transmitter is incorrect; and a controller requesting the transmitter to retransmit the first signal when a second packet, which has been determined from the second signal, is incorrect.

Abstract:
A medium access control (MAC) technique of a multihop sensor network. In the multihop sensor network, the MAC technique may contribute to significantly reducing transmission delay, and allow real-time services to be provided to all nodes by extending a guaranteed time slot (GTS) restricted to one hop in a personal area network (PAN) coordinator (PNC) to all nodes. Furthermore, the MAC technique may allow the number of available GTSs to be significantly increased, by using all 16 frequency band channels instead of using only a single frequency band and setting a multi-superframe.
