Cisco to dump Flip camera, cut 550 jobs

• Cisco bought Pure Digital, maker of the Flip camera, for about $590 million in 2009. In announcing the deal, Ned Hopper, Ciscos chief strategy officer, said at the time that the acquisition would enable the company to expand our momentum in the media-enabled home and to capture the consumer market transition to visual networking.
