A lip seal union fitting attaches to a female boss associated with a hydraulic component. The female boss includes a bore, a first threaded portion located on an inner surface of the bore and a seat. A body of the lip seal union fitting is constructed of a first material and includes a tube-side end, a boss-side end, and a central portion. A second threaded portion is located on an outer surface of the boss-side end. A lip seal is constructed of a second material. The lip seal extends from the central portion of the body towards the boss-side end. The lip seal includes an outer surface that engages the seat of the boss to create a fluid seal as the first and second threaded portions are rotatably engaged. The first material has a greater material hardness than the second material. The first material includes at least one of steel, stainless steel, an titanium alloy and the second material includes at least one of aluminum and aluminum alloy.

Abstract:
A store carrier having automatic sway bracing which includes two sway braces located symmetrically at a span larger than a pair of inner suspension hooks and smaller than a pair of outer suspension hooks. When a store is loaded on either the inner or outer pair of hooks and the hooks close, a pair of spring loaded tapered wedges on each side of vertically moveable sway brace supporting columns are released to slide and wedge against mating tapered surfaces on the sway brace column thereby locking the sway braces against the loaded store. The wedges are compliant in that they are spring biased against the sliding surface so as to avoid unloading the wedge when subjected to vibratory loads. The wedges are thus prevented from excessive tightening when subject to vibration. At hook opening the tapered wedges are driven with the hooks to cocked positions ready to accept the next store.

Abstract:
An apparatus for determining the dimensions of a stack of sheets in the tray. An optical sensor is arranged so that movement of the sheet guides in a paper tray causes a variably graduated scale to be moved past the sensor. The sensor may either be a transmissive or reflective type analog sensor in which the strength of the signal generated by the sensor is converted into a position of the side guides and as the analog scale is continuously variable, there is no need for separate discrete sensors or switches and sheet sizes of any dimension can be accommodated. A recalibration process is used to prevent contamination of the gauge and the associated change in signal strength by this sensor from causing the size determinations to be inaccurate. Alternatively, a digital sensor in cooperation with a digital bar code or other digital scale can be utilized to determine the variable sheet size, which digital sensor and variable scale are insensitive to contamination by dirt or paper particles, etc. The sensor system herein is very robust and provides a simple device for determining the size of a stack of sheets in a paper tray.

Abstract:
An improved system for segregating and identifying separate job sets from a commonly stacked output of plural job sets of copy sheets sequentially generated by a printer and sequentially outputted into a sheet stacker in which they may be superposed commonly stacked. A control system selects which standard size sheet supply tray of the printer will feed the copy sheets for a selected job set, and can automatically feed and print a cover sheet of a larger size or different orientation before or after the job set copy sheets are fed. The sheet stacker may desirably stack the copy sheets of the job sets commonly edge aligned but so that at least one edge area of the cover sheets extends substantially from at least one edge of the stack of copy sheets of the job sets to provide an exposed printed banner strip for clear job sets segregation and separation even if the commonly stacked plural job sets of copy sheets are misaligned in subsequent handling. The cover sheets may be printed side up even if the job set copy sheets are stacked printed side down. The exposed banner strip may have identifying indicia printed thereon for identifying job sets.

Abstract:
An apparatus in which the approximate thickness of a set of sheets is determined. A tray supporting a stack of sheets thereon is periodically indexed a preselected distance each time the thickness of the stack of sheets decreases by a specified amount. The approximate thickness of the set of sheets is calculated as a function of the number of times the tray is indexed and a constant corresponding to the preselected distance the tray indexes.
Bleed Valve For Bleeding Fluid From A Hydraulic Circuit
McDonnell Douglas Corporation - Huntington Beach CA
International Classification:
B60T 1126 F16K 100
US Classification:
188352
Abstract:
A bleed valve for bleeding fluid from a hydraulic circuit comprises a valve body having a valve passage therethrough adapted for fluid communication with the hydraulic circuit, a valve seat on the valve body, and a sealing assembly. The sealing assembly has a valve closure connected to a valve stem and adapted for sealing engagement with the valve seat. The sealing assembly is moveable between a closed sealing position in which the valve closure sealingly engages the valve seat to block fluid flow through the valve passage and an open position in which the valve closure is spaced from the valve seat to permit fluid flow through the valve passage. A valve fitting on the valve body has an outlet port for exhausting fluid from the valve passage. The fitting is moveable relative to the valve body for selectively positioning the outlet port with respect to the valve body. The outlet port is in fluid communication with the valve passage regardless of its relative position with respect to the valve body.

Abstract:
A pressure controlled check valve that includes a valve casing having a first opening and a second opening, a poppet valve operationally disposed in the second opening of the valve casing for opening when the pressure in the valve casing is greater than or equal to the pressure on the other side of the poppet valve, and an aneroid valve actuator located within valve casing for opening the poppet valve for reverse flow when the pressure within the valve casing is less than a predetermined pressure.
