Abstract:

A system and methods for improving the comprehension and oral presentation skills of a student are disclosed. Information and computer software stored and executed on a general purpose, multimedia computer provide a student with the ability to direct the operation of the computer to display and/or present audio recordings of instructional information, record the student's audio recitation of information, and play back such audio recordings. The system also provides a means to assess the level of skill that the student has acquired. Abstract:

A pad for absorbing lacteal fluid is constructed comprising an absorbent central portion, a moisture-impermeable outer portion, and a fluid-transmitting body-contacting portion. Between the body-contacting portion and the absorbent central portion there is positioned a layer of material which has a higher degree of capillary transfer of lacteal fluid than said body-contacting portion, whereby capillary spread of fluid in said body-contacting portion is minimized.

Abstract:

The method of manufacturing an absorbent pad for utilization as a diaper or an adult incontinent brief, wherein a pair of continuous bands of adhesive are applied to the backing sheet of the pad, prior to assembly thereof. The nozzles eject adhesive onto a moving web comprising the backing sheet. The nozzles are shifted sideways during their extrusion of adhesive, from a first location to a second location, thus generating a pair of non-linear bands of adhesive on the backing sheet. The nozzles are again shifted from their second location to their original first location upon receipt of proper signals from a control mechanism. The elastic band is not shifted when the nozzles are, thus effectuating securement of the elastic bands only on the portions of the backing sheets where the adhesive was applied at the first location.
