Abstract:

A transmission shift lever assembly having a manually operated shift lever, pivotally mounted by a sliding saddle block connection on a shift shaft for transverse selecting movement between first, second and third neutral positions and rotating the shift shaft to these neutral positions and pivotally mounted for limited selecting movement in a pivot bracket pivotally mounted for shifting movement on the housing for fore and aft shifting movement conjointly with the pivot bracket from any neutral position in either direction to a drive position without turning movement. Cooperating blocking and unblocking cams on the shift lever and a spring-centered rotary inhibitor acting on a selecting movement of the shift lever from second neutral position to first neutral position to rotate the rotary inhibitor to unblocking position permitting shifting movement of the shift lever to either first or reverse drive positions and acting on a shift from first drive position to first neutral position to rotate the rotary inhibitor to blocking position blocking shift movement to reverse drive position and compelling selecting movement to second neutral position.

Abstract:

Fluorinated butyric acid compounds and derivatives are described as well as acid methods for the preparation and pharmaceutical compositions of same, which are useful as inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases, particularly gelatinase A (72 kD gelatinase) and stromelysin-1, and also collagenase, matrilysin, and MMP-13, and for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, atherosclerotic plaque rupture, aortic aneurism, heart failure, restenosis, periodontal disease, corneal ulceration, treatment of burns, decubital ulcers, wound healing, cancer, inflammation, pain, arthritis, or other autoimmune or inflammatory disorders dependent upon tissue invasion by leukocytes or other activated migrating cells, acute and chronic neurodegenerative disorders including stroke, head trauma, spinal cord injury, Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, AIDS, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, prion diseases, myasthenia gravis, and Duchenne's muscular dystrophy.

Abstract:

A transmission shift linkage having a manual shift lever pivoted in a housing for selecting movement between neutral positions and shifting movement to four forward speed positions and a reverse drive position with a manually releasable reverse inhibitor to prevent selecting movement from the neutral position for first and second speed drive position to the neutral position for reverse drive position to inhibit shifts to reverse drive position. The inhibitor has a stop member mounted on the manual shift lever for movement in the selecting movement direction between inhibiting and detent positions and is spring biased to inhibiting position. A spring biased finger operated release mechanism normally locks the stop member in inhibiting position for engaging the housing to positively inhibit selecting movement from the first second neutral position to the reverse neutral position to inhibit a shift to reverse and on manual release of the release mechanism to permit movement of the stop member against the inhibitor spring bias for manual detent feel selecting movement of the shift lever from the first second neutral position to the reverse neutral position to permit a shift to reverse.

Abstract:

A transmission shift lever pivotally mounted at one end and having at the other end a handle with a detent release button connected to push a detent release rod axially extending through a tubular lever portion to release a U-shaped detent member which is mounted on the lever and biased to engage detent notches on the internal diameter of a detent plate located about the pivot. The handle has a rigid core with a bore to reciprocally receive the release button and an elastic cover. The button has a cam and stop engaging a cam and stop on the cover to expand the cover to insert and retain the button biased to release position. In one form the button directly axially pushes on the release rod and in another form the button moves transversely and has a cam rotating a pivoted lever which supports the release spring and pushes the release rod. The release rod is made of plastic and in a curved portion of the tubular lever is integrally formed of a series of balls for guidance of the rod and thin flexible connecting links to transmit a push force to release the detent member.
