Abstract:

A locking gasoline cap and integrated portable container to restrict unauthorized access and removal of the container and contents. An outer freely rotating cap is selectively engaged by a key locking cylinder to an inner fluid sealing access cap. A reversible pour spout provides for direct fluid transfer from the container after unlocking and repositioning. A static security cable links the locking cap with the container and an immovable object attachment point therebetween.

Abstract:

This is a utility patent application for an Energy Diffusing Glove Insert (EDGI) that protects the users hand from pressure and shock. It decreases the pressure on the Median and Ulnar Neurovascular bundles on the palm of the hand decreasing both temporary and permanent injury coming from overuse. Originally designed for bicycle riding gloves they can also be utilized in other high impact, pressure, or vibration situations to improve performance and decrease injury, when inserted into those gloves either as a temporary addition or by a permanent fixation. The exact specifications will vary with the use and materials utilized for each purpose. They will always be designed to protect while allowing a good grip and adequate protection from the use involved. This patent should allow the incorporation of new cushioning material or combinations to be used. The insert shall be sized to fit inside the standard glove sizes.

Abstract:

An energy diffusing pad insertable within a glove. The pad includes a resilient material having a first and a second surface, and a front and rear portion. The first surface is positionable against a user's palm such that when the pad is aligned over the user's palm, the first surface of the cushion contacts at least the thenar and hypothenar eminences of a user's palm while not contacting the user's Median and Ulnar neurovascular bundles. The glove may include a pouch to retain the pad while in use. When in use, the pad is positioned over the user's palm, where the pad forms a bridge over the raised, bony thenar and hypothenar eminences of a user's palm. The pad diffuses the pressure of the grasped object away from the region between the thenar and hypothenar eminences, thus protecting the Median and Ulnar neurovascular bundles. A cushioned insert may be included within a portion of the pad to provide additional cushioning and protection of the Median and Ulnar nerves.

Abstract:

Modular operating centers for use in electric power generating plants and other industrial and commercial plants, processes and systems are constructed by using a novel prefabricated modular technique. This technique includes loading a plurality of transportable room-size building modules with control system equipment at a factory site. Typically, the control system equipment includes sophisticated and complex electrical and electronics data processing and control equipment. The control system equipment is installed and bolted down in the different building modules and the equipment in each module is inter-wired at the factory site. Temporary inter-module connections are established between the control system equipment in different ones of the building modules and such equipment, as a whole, is then thoroughly tested and adjusted under simulated use conditions. Thereafter, the loaded and tested building modules are separated and separately transported to the industrial or commercial installation site. At the installation site, the building modules are joined together to form an integral weatherproof building structure and the inter-module control system equipment connections are re-established to provide a tested and substantially ready-to-go control center for the plant, process or system in question.

Abstract:

A reheat pressurized fluidized bed combustor system for an electric power plant includes an HP turbine which drives a compressor. Compressed clean air is directed through a combustor bed heat exchanger where it is heated to 1500. degree. F. and then directed to the HP turbine inlet. After HP turbine expansion, the clean exhaust air is cooled to about 1100. degree. F. and partly directed to the combustor bed for reheating and for bed fluidization and combustor support and partly bypassed around the combustor bed. Coal is burned in the combustor bed to heat the combustor outlet gases to 1600. degree. F. which are directed to a cleanup system and then mixed with the bypass flow portion. The mixed flow is supplied to a low pressure turbine at a turbine inlet temperature of 1300. degree. F. at which alkali matter is solidified and then exhausted to one or more heat recovery devices.

Abstract:

Brake assemblies for in-line roller skates utilize a brake pad and a support member having portions extending forward of the front wheel. The brake support may fasten to the forward portion of the skate side rail by two bolts substituted for two of the skate's wheel bolts. Tabs or a groove, and a screw secure the replaceable brake pad to the forward portion of the brake support. The pad extends around the front of the front wheel and also at least partially around to the side of the front wheel on the brake support surface. The brake support member may be formed as an integral part of the side rail extending forward of the front wheel. These arrangements allow the skater to brake safely by tipping the foot downwardly or by dragging the foot to the side.
