Abstract:

A trash collection and compacting apparatus primarily intended for use onboard an aircraft comprising a stationary compactor unit and interrelated movable wheeled trolley unit, the trolley unit having a plurality of separate trash collection chambers into which trash is deposited and compacted and support rails for supporting the trolley unit on the compactor unit for the direct compaction of trash in the trolley. The trolley unit also has separable sides to facilitate removal of compacted trash, and multiple fail safe locks and latches to ensure that the sides are not inadvertently separated during trash collection and compaction. Fire doors are provided to close the chambers, and removable trash bins are disposed in each trash chamber to facilitate handling of compacted trash, the bins having separable sides for emptying the compacted trash therefrom. The compactor unit includes a compaction ram mounted on a carriage assembly for movement into discrete positions overlying each collection chamber of the trolley unit and supports the trolley so that compaction forces are not transmitted to the aircraft.

Abstract:

A battery life indicator module that is mounted between a flashlight head assembly containing the light reflector and a battery casing assembly for holding the batteries is disclosed. The battery life indicator module contains an indicator, such as a light-emitting diode (LED). Internal to the battery life indicator module is a circuit which measures the battery level and activates the indicator to display the battery level. The module also provides the necessary electrical connection between the batteries and the light bulb of the flashlight. In the preferred embodiment, three LEDs are used to indicate various levels of charge. The monitoring circuit is activated by the ON/OFF switch of the flashlight so that power is not drained when the flashlight is not in use. The module has threads at its two ends for coupling to the flashlight head assembly and the battery casing assembly. The monitoring circuit contains a pair of voltage dividers for providing two voltages references.

Abstract:

A computer processor support or vertical stand is provided including a pair of opposed, coupled support members, each having a vertically extending end portion and a horizontally extending foot portion with an integral rack. A pawl member extends parallel to the foot portion and includes a hook. The pawl member is hingedly connected to the support member and includes an actuator which is actuatable to pivotally move the hook. A pair of the devices can be positioned in opposing relationship about a computer placed on edge so that the pair can be convergingly clamped onto the computer with the hook positively but releasably engaging the rack.
