A vacuum cleaner is provided which includes an easily removable recovery tank mounted on a support structure and having a cover on the tank forming a vacuum chamber in the tank, the cover being hinged to the support structure by a hollow hinge. A vacuum fan is mounted on the support structure and draws air from the vacuum chamber through the cover and through the hollow hinge.

Abstract:
A mobile rug or carpet cleaner is provided with a support housing having front and rear wheels mounted so that the unit is tilted about the housing axis of the front wheels to engage and disengage a cleaning head with the carpet to be cleaned. The cleaner includes a fluid delivery system which provides fluid flow to the cleaning head, an auxiliary cleaning head and a spotter. The fluid delivery system utilizes a pump having an open conduit which continuously recycles cleaning fluid to a reservoir. The continuous recycle allows a solenoid valve in a line transporting fluid to the cleaning head spray nozzles to be abruptly closed without subjecting the entire fluid delivery system to a sudden, potentially damaging increase in fluid pressure. An automatic drain system utilizes a vacuum line to direct spent cleaning fluid to a removable waste tank for disposal. Suction can be selectively directed to the cleaning head or to the auxiliary head.
Method And Apparatus For The Prevention Of Unauthorized Copying Of Documents

Abstract:
Method and apparatus are disclosed for the prevention of unauthorized copying of documentation on an office, or other type, copier. Unique phosphors are applied to paper. When such a paper is placed on or in a copier so prepared, the presence of the phosphor is detected and the copier is disabled. Inside the copier a laser emits a beam toward the paper. Two detectors detect, respectively, the laser light reflected from the document and the stimulated light from the phosphor coating or layer. Detection of both signals, in the proper time sequence, will cause the photocopier to cease operation prior to electrostatic or other capture of the image. Upconversion phosphors could be utilized as the phosphor coating due to their scarcity and unliklihood of use in this manner.

US Classification:

Abstract:
An improved method for stereolithographically making an object by alternating the order in which similar sets of vectors are exposed over two or more layers. In another method, a pattern of tightly packed hexagonal tiles are drawn. Each tile is isolated from its neighboring tiles by specifying breaks of unexposed material between the tiles. Using an interrupted scan method, vectors are drawn with periodic breaks along their lengths. In another method, modulator and scanning techniques are used to reduce exposure problems associated with the acceleration and deceleration of the scanning system when jumping between vectors or changing scanning directions.
Method And Apparatus For Stereolithographic Curl Balancing

International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for eliminating or substantially reducing curling effects in stereolithographically formed objects. Synergistic stimulation is applied to a curable material to form a three dimensional object through the build up of successive layers. Curling between successive layers is eliminated or substantially reduced by curing a balancing layer in relation to a balanced layer such that reverse curl of the balanced layer caused by the balancing layer offsets or negates normal curl of the balanced layer caused by the balancing layer.

US Classification:

Abstract:
The instant invention is directed to related methods of producing a three-dimensional object by dispensing sheets of a material, capable of physical transformation upon exposure to synergistic stimulation, onto a substantially flat working surface of a previous cross-section. In one preferred embodiment, sheets of a photoresist are employed which change solubility upon exposure to electromagnetic radiation. In other preferred embodiments, non-photoreactive sheets are employed, which ablate upon exposure to infrared radiation.

Abstract:
A portable air blower includes a flexibly resilient housing, a motor mounted within the housing, and a blower wheel fixed to a motor shaft. The motor is bolted at one end to a motor mounting bracket which, in turn, is attached to the housing by a plurality of first shock mounts. Each such first shock mount includes a bolt for connecting the motor mounting bracket with the housing, and a resilient elastomeric grommet interposed between the bolt and the bracket. A self-clinching nut fixes the bolt to the housing. The motor shaft rotates through a self-aligning bearing held by a pyramid-like support bracket which is attached to the housing by a plurality of second shock mounts. The second shock mounts are identical to the first shock mounts, and include a resilient elastomeric grommet interposed between the support bracket and the bolt.
