Abstract:

A filtration device for filtering air used with a fuel vapor recovery system may comprise a housing comprising an upper end having at least one air inlet and a lower end having at least one air outlet , a first passageway in fluid communication with the air inlet and configured to increase the velocity of the air through the first passageway compared to the air inlet , a collection cavity in fluid communication the first passageway and configured to reduce the velocity and abruptly change the direction of the air through the collection cavity compared to the first passageway , a filter cavity in fluid communication with the collection cavity comprising a filtering media , and a clean air cavity in fluid communication with the filter cavity and the air outlet of the housing.
