A mechanically activated pozzolan prepared from granitic quarry fines. Quarry fines are milled by a high-energy milling process to convert the essentially inert raw granitic fines into a chemically reactive state. When added to a portland cement mortar mixture, mechanically activated fines combined with calcium hydroxide to improve the strength of the cured mortar compared to a similar mixture prepared with raw fines. Mortars prepared with mechanically activated granitic fines typically show strength values comparable to or exceeding similar mortars made using fly ash as a pozzolan. In some instances, the strength of a mortar prepared with mechanically activated granitic quarry fines exceeded a mortar prepared using 100% portland cement as the cementitious component.
Modular, Low Cost, Memory Efficient, Input Resolution Independent, Frame-Synchronous, Video Compression System Using Multi Stage Wavelet Analysis And Temporal Signature Analysis With A Highly Optimized Hardware Implementation
The present invention provides a method of and apparatus for operating upon a sequence of video frames by splitting each frame into components, and each component into a plurality of columns. The columns are operated upon in a manner that reduced edge artifacts and compresses the columns by reducing precision in certain higher frequency bands more than other lower frequency bands. The thus operated upon frames can be transmitted, received, and processed at a receiver with low latency and very low memory storage The invention further discusses a novel way of temporal compression using signatures of the sub bands generated for spatial compression. Spatial analysis using wavelets further enables the decoder to format and scale the decoded output to suit an arbitrary display screen. The method provides a practical solution to the problem of compressing, storing, or transmitting of video with ever-increasing spatial and temporal resolutions.

Abstract:
The present invention overcomes limitations of conventional synchronous signal transmission systems. The present invention provides apparent low latency synchronous signal transmission between devices, even if the transmission channel has impairments, and, allows for asynchronous transmission of signals between a transmitters and receivers that are located between the devices. Compression is preferably used for reducing the bandwidth of the transmitted data which results in asynchronous transmission of signals between a transmitter and a receiver.

Abstract:
A graphics adapter of the type whose operation is controlled by control data stored therein. The graphics adapter has two sets of loadable control data, one of which is used by a graphics processor in the graphics adaptor and the other of which is used by the processor for the system in which the graphics adapter is used. Because each processor has its own set of control data, control of the graphics adapter is rapidly and easily switched between the processors. Included in the graphics adapter is graphics control apparatus which contains storage for two sets of control data and operates under control of one or the other of them as determined by signals from the graphics adapter. The graphics control apparatus further includes state storage for retaining state necessary for resumption of operation for one processor after the other has used the graphics adapter. The graphics control apparatus can perform both byte and word operations and can emulate byte operations while operating in word mode. Further, the graphics control apparatus may employ either an external or an internal mask to mask data.

More challenges present themselves in Nationals' 4-2 loss to the Giants
Three pitches later, Kelley spiked a slider registered at 75 mph several feet in front of home plate. The toss instantly sprung trainer Paul Lessard from the Nationals dugout. After a brief conversation, Kelley, a two-time Tommy John recipient, walked off the mound with an apparent arm injury. A te

Aggressive approach pays off early vs. Kershaw (Nats win 5-2)
Update III: Well, it took two left-handers to record the first three outs. After Matt Grace put two on and retired one - with a visit from trainer Paul Lessard thrown in there for good measure - Sammy Sols entered and served up an RBI single to Grandal that trimmed the lead to 4-2. Sols, though, c

Stephen Strasburg, Ryan Zimmerman power Nationals past Phillies, 4-2
But he refused to leave the mound. He told the concerned trio he was good. So Manager Dusty Baker, pitching coach Mike Maddux and trainer Paul Lessard let him be. Strasburg was intent on cleaning up his mess, on pitching deeper into the game to ease the burden on Washingtons shorthanded bullpen.
