About:
Born in Durban, South Africa in 1977, I moved to Columbia, Maryland at the age of 3 with my parents and my older sister. At the age of 5 we relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where I have lived ever since. I am a product of the public school education system, from Rodgers Forge Elementary School to Dumbarton Middle School to Towson High School.
After graduating from Towson High I went to a small private college by the name of Gettysburg College, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I graduted in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management while minoring in Psychology.
Upon graduation I began working in my father's architectural firm where I began to learn how the "real world" operates in terms of business. After a few years I decided to move into outside sales, where I pounded the pavements of Maryland, D.C. and northern Virginia for several years. It was in 2004 that I happened upon the mortgage industry and after navigating my way through several less than stellar companies, I landed with Access Capital Mortgage in 2005.
On a personal level, I was a 3 sport letterman in high school and the co-captain of the football, basketball and golf teams my senior year. I was very active in intramural sports while at college as well.
With the incredible stabililty of our parent bank, Presidential Bank, we have weathered the "mortgage crisis" successfully and can boast that we are moving forward with a full head of steam in 2010. As a lender, we are in position to lend our own funds and thus are not dependant upon anyone to get deals through and get them through successfully.

A biologic can be immobilized in a transparent polyurethane-hydrogel composition. Such a polyurethane-hydrogel composition can be prepared from forming a polyurethane-hydrogel mixture and immobilizing a biologic in the mixture. The mixture can be formed by admixing a prepolymer and a water-soluble crosslinker in aqueous solvent and in the substantial absence of organic solvent. A suitable prepolymer generally includes at least one water-soluble polyol and at least one isocyanate and can be added to the mixture in an amount of no greater than about 5 weight percent based on total weight of all components. A suitable crosslinker generally has a crosslinker functionality of at least 2. A biologic includes cells, peptides, nucleics, peptide nucleic acids, saccharides, lipopolysaccharides, glycolipids, and combinations of these. A polyurethane-hydrogel composition having an immobilized biologic can be particularly useful for biomedical applications. Some examples of useful biomedical applications include protein microarrays, cell microarrays, and DNA microarrays.

Abstract:
A shelf stable, intermediate moisture, food bar having a soft and chewy texture with good taste is disclosed. Lowered sugar content and good texture and taste characteristics are maintained through the use of a combination of at least two polyhydric alcohols in varying ratios, one of which comprises a sugar alcohol and the other either glycerol or propylene glycol. In preferred embodiments the two polyhydric alcohols are glycerol and sorbitol employed in a ratio of glycerol to sorbitol in the range 1:1 to 5:1. Despite a low total sugar content the water activity may be maintained in the 0. 2-0. 55 range through the use of such polyhydric alcohols while achieving a soft texture.
