About:
Paul Sweet joins Halstead with a thirteen year international trade and business development career. An honors graduate from Queens University, Ireland, Pauls culturally diverse business path has seen him work in Sweden, China, Hong Kong, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and now the USA, with an established network throughout. His success in each of the countries he has worked, has centered on one thing, and that has been People, and the relationships he has been able to establish and maintain therein. The same is now true in New York. Trust, loyalty and dependability have been the cornerstones which have underlined his professional reputation, with creative thinking and a drive to get the job done, being the momentum behind his accomplishments. He brings energy, enthusiasm, and dynamism to his client base, and as a former national athlete, his work is garnered with a natural competitive drive to succeed. Pauls interest in architecture and property has been with him from a young age, in fact it was a choice at university to pursue either a degree in Architecture and Classics, or a more commercially viable business degree, and professional year. The latter won, but Pauls interest and engagement with property and architecture has remained intact. Paul has developed and sold property in the United Kingdom, as well as having traded land and residential property contracts, and worked with architects in developing planning applications, and tackling zoning restrictions. Paul is also a keen design enthusiast, who has designed and manufactured furniture pieces for Habitat, formerly owned by Sir Terrence Conran, along with a range of residential and European commercial clients. His known success and reputation has enabled Paul to now represent the designs of one the United Kingdoms leading designers of the 20th Century in the United States, Ernest Race. A dedicated father, and an active participant in many of the young family communities of the residential areas in the City he has thus far lived, Pauls main focus outside of his career has been his children, and nurturing them through the stages of their early development. This period as a young father has been a conduit for Paul to explore some of his other loves, which are food, cooking, and entertaining. In addition, Paul is also an avid music fan, who recently performed at the Metropolitan Opera in their 2013 production of Aida. He is also a classic car enthusiast, with an ambition to participate in the Mille Miglia race from Brescia to Rome. In summation of his initial life in New York, Paul has said, When I look at how my life has changed in the first four years I have been here, now as a father of two beautiful girls, and having established myself in this Great City from scratch, I now think, what will the next four years hold! I realise from the outset that this business is not really about property, it is about people, and that gives me every confidence in knowing I will be successful in what I do. One of his favourite motivational quotes is The harder I work, the luckier I get.
