An apparatus and method for feeding sheet film material longitudinally from a roll and for forming and sealing the sheet into tubes comprising roller means for supporting a supply roll of film and for feeding the film, folding means at the edge of the film for folding an edge portion, forming means for forming the film into inner and outer tubes, bullet shaped shaping means for shaping the tubes and overlapping the sheet edges, and anvil and ultrasonic stylus means for engaging and fusing the overlapped sheet edges. The method includes feeding and shaping the sheet into tubes, overlapping the sheet edges, feeding the overlapped sheet edges between an anvil and an ultrasonically energized stylus and energizing the stylus to fuse and seal the sheet edges.
A multi-compartment capsule having a longitudinally extending tubular inner compartment for containing a catalyst and a longitudinally extending tubular outer compartment around the inner compartment for containing a resin composition. The longitudinally extending tubular inner and outer compartments are formed by a single-ply film strip of polyester material to which are welded along opposite longitudinal edges two-ply strips having a first ply of polyester material welded to the polyester film strip of the single-ply strip and a second ply of polyethylene material. The composite sheet made up of the single-ply strip and two-ply strips is folded upon itself along one two-ply marginal edge to form the tubular inner compartment so that the polyethylene ply material at the composite strip edge contacts such ply material when folded and is welded thereto. The opposite two-ply marginal edge of the composite strip is then folded over the formed inner compartment so as to bring the polyethylene ply material at the edge into contact with the polyethylene ply material of the other edge and is welded thereto to form the tubular outer compartment.

Abstract:
This invention is a magnetic-field sensor assembly comprising a preformed housing shell having a first end which includes an opening, and a second end which includes a window and having a cylindrical shape with a flattened portion to produce a truncated circular cross-section, a sensor package including an integrated-circuit magnetic-field-sensor chip encapsulated in a protective body with first and second opposite and mutually parallel faces and a plurality of integral conductive leads, each lead having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a central portion, the proximal portion of each of said plurality of leads extending from said body, the central portion of said plurality of leads extending away from the body and positioned substantially normal the faces of the body, said sensor-package body being positioned in said housing shell part way through said window with said one body face extending outwardly from said housing shell and with said lead distal portions extending from said housing shell through said opening, a magnet having a first end and a second end and positioned in said housing shell with said first end adjacent to said second sensor-package body face, and an endcap adapted to close said opening in said housing shell.
