Abstract:
There is provided a compression gauge assembly for diagnosing pressure variances of an engine cylinder(s). The gauge assembly comprises a gauge sensor in communication with the engine cylinder(s). The gauge sensor is operative to detect compression stroke pressures within the cylinder(s). A gauge controller is in communication with the gauge sensor. The gauge controller includes a comparator circuit operative to compare detected compression stroke pressures within the cylinder(s) and to derive the pressure variances therebetween. A gauge display is in communication with the gauge controller for displaying the derived pressure variances.

Abstract:
A self-contained, hand held automotive diagnostic tool and method for logging automotive diagnostic data is disclosed. An automotive diagnostic tool is connected to a programming device, at which time the tool is programmed to log specified diagnostic data in response to detection of a selected vehicle diagnostic indicator. The tool is then connected to a vehicle diagnostic port, where diagnostic information is received by the tool. The tool detects the occurrence of the specified vehicle diagnostic indicator and logs diagnostic data for a selectable pre-indicator detection period and a selectable post-indicator detection period.

Abstract:
A telecommunication device for the hearing impaired having the capability of sending text communications via a telephone-style keypad and receiving text communications for display on an LCD display in addition to providing standard telephone voice communications. The telecommunications device automates voice carryover (VCO) calls and for provides automatic answering and recording capability for text messages on the same telephone line as a voice answering machine and or a facsimile machine. The telecommunications device further includes means for selectively adjusting the amplification of received voice messages and sent voice messages to provide maximum amplification of said received voice messages without producing feedback oscillation or to provide maximum amplification of sent voice messages without producing feedback oscillation. The telecommunications device further including means for minimizing effect of the reflected impedance of the telephone line on signal transmission and optimizing the coupling of signals to the telephone line.
A diagnostic condition indexed kit for implementing a do-it-yourself automotive repair includes at least one replacement part compatible with a specified vehicle, at least one tool for installing the replacement part(s) in the specified vehicle, and packaging containing the replacement part(s) and the tool(s). The packaging may include an indicator, accessible from outside the packaging, referencing the specified vehicle and a diagnostic condition associated with the specified vehicle that is repairable by installation of the replacement part(s). A scan tool or app-loaded mobile device may be operable to communicate with an onboard computer of a vehicle and receive one or more repair codes associated with the diagnostic condition and vehicle-identifying information from the onboard computer and identify the kit based on the received repair code(s) and vehicle-identifying information. A server may match the repair code(s) and vehicle diagnostic information to a kit identifier.

Abstract:
A container having the ability to preserve contents is disclosed. The container can have a seal with a viewer, which can bend light, which will enable a user to better view the contents of the container while it is sealed. The container can also have a receptacle that can be filled with different items for better storage of the contents. The container having a viewer can also have a receptacle that allows the user to still see through the viewer to the contents.
Vehicle Diagnostic System And Related Methodology Deployable At Vehicle Service Facility
A drive-through vehicle diagnostic system for use in a drive-through track of a facility includes an offer generating module capable of presenting an offer to a user adjacent the track and receiving user input associated with a selected offer. A remote server is in communication with the offer generating module and is capable of generating a diagnostic procedure associated with the selected offer. The diagnostic procedure includes a prescribed data retrieval instruction and a prescribed diagnostic summary instruction. A scan tool is connectable with a vehicle and is configured to receive the prescribed data retrieval instruction and retrieve diagnostic data from the vehicle in accordance with the prescribed data retrieval instruction while the vehicle proceeds along the track. The remote server is configured to receive the retrieved diagnostic data and analyze the diagnostic data to generate a diagnostic summary in accordance with the prescribed diagnostic summary instruction.

Abstract:
Provided is a method of receiving data from a vehicle having an onboard computer. The vehicle identification data location on the vehicle is optically scanned and matched to a second protocol database to identify the specific protocol useful for retrieving desired diagnostic data from the vehicle. A diagnostic device is connected to the vehicle onboard computer and polls the onboard computer to identify a protocol useful to establish a communication link between the diagnostic device and the onboard computer. Once the communication link is established, the diagnostic device is configured communicate an information request to the onboard computer in the specific protocol(s) associated with vehicle identification data. The diagnostic data received from the onboard computer may then be communicated to a remote diagnostic database, via a cellphone, to identify a possible vehicle fix(es) for defects associated with the received diagnostic data.

Abstract:
A system for monitoring the status of a vehicle utilizing a monitoring unit and a receiver unit. The monitoring unit is operatively connectable to the vehicle via a diagnostic port and detects the voltage output by the vehicle's battery when the vehicle's engine is turned on and off, and voltage output by the alternator while the engine is running. From these voltage measurements, the monitoring unit determine the operational status of the vehicle's battery and alternator by comparison to predefined criteria, such as optimal voltage ranges or a threshold minimum voltage. When the monitoring unit detects that the vehicle's battery or alternator may be malfunctioning, a signal indicating a malfunction is transmitted to the receiver unit, for example the driver's cellular phone, which will generate a warning notification alerting the operator to the existence and component responsible for the malfunction.
