Abstract:

The disclosure includes embodiments of personalizing a shared ride in a mobility-on-demand service using a response matrix. A method includes receiving feedback from a first set of users that share a first shared ride, wherein the feedback describes their individual satisfaction with the first shared ride. The method includes updating, by the processor, a response matrix to include the feedback, wherein the response matrix includes digital data describing historical user satisfaction with a plurality of shared rides over time. The method includes matching, by the processor, a second set of users to a second shared ride based on service profile data for the users, vehicle data for vehicles, and the response matrix so that the satisfaction of the second set of users with the second shared ride is improved based on the response matrix.

Abstract:

System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to a control system to improve estimating motion for an automated vehicle related to cooperative driving. In one embodiment, a method includes monitoring, by an ego vehicle, a communication link for motion data of a target vehicle, used in a model to determine motion, for motion planning by the ego vehicle. The method also includes estimating trajectory of the target vehicle according to a motion estimate by the model when criteria for the communication link are unsatisfied. The method also includes adjusting the motion estimate using a modified model, adapted for speed of the target vehicle, when the criteria for the communication link are satisfied. The method also includes controlling the ego vehicle according to the trajectory and the motion estimate.

A method comprises receiving driving data from a plurality of connected vehicles approaching an intersection, the driving data comprising a speed and position of a connected vehicle, determining estimated times of arrival that each of the connected vehicles will arrive at the intersection based on the driving data, scheduling the connected vehicles to cross the intersection in a particular order based on the estimated times of arrival, and transmitting the scheduled order to the connected vehicles.

Systems and methods for maintaining a service session in an automotive edge computing environment are disclosed herein. One embodiment computes a first estimation result pertaining to computation resources of a current edge server with which a vehicle is in communication; computes a second estimation result pertaining to link quality; computes a third estimation result pertaining to service quality; compares the first, second, and third estimation results with first, second, and third predetermined thresholds, respectively; selects a new edge server with which to maintain the service session and initiates a service migration request, when the first predetermined threshold is triggered; initiates a wireless access handover request, when only the second predetermined threshold is triggered; and selects a new edge server with which to maintain the service session and initiates a service migration request, when only the third predetermined threshold is triggered and one of two predetermined conditions is met.

Abstract:

A server can assist connected vehicles merging from a ramp onto a main lane. A connected vehicle can be configured to communicate with the server. Connected vehicles on the main lane and connected vehicles on the ramp can send their locations and speeds to the server. The server can determine when at least one connected vehicle is within a geo-fence surrounding a merging point, where the main lane and the ramp meet. The server can determine an order in which the connected vehicles on the main lane and on the ramp can merge based on the connected vehicles' locations and speeds. The server can determine an advisory speed for at least one of the connected vehicles based on the order. The server can send the advisory speed to the at least one connected vehicle.

The disclosure includes embodiments a first connected vehicle to transmit a set of wireless communications based on a communication plan generated by a cloud server by observing a set of digital twin simulations. A method includes wirelessly transmitting, by the first connected vehicle that is included in a set of connected vehicles, first context data that describes a context of the first connected vehicle and a set of wireless communications to be sent by the first connected vehicle. The method includes receiving plan data that describes a communication plan for transmitting the set of wireless communications, wherein the set of digital twin simulations are executed by the cloud server based at least in part on the first context data and a set of other context data provided by the set of connected vehicles. The method includes wirelessly transmitting the set of wireless communications in compliance with the communication plan.

The disclosure includes embodiments for a cloud server to transmit a set of wireless communications. A method includes wirelessly receiving, by the cloud server, context data from a set of connected vehicles, where the context data describes (1) a context for the set of connected vehicles and (2) a set of vehicular communications to be sent by the set of connected vehicles, including digital data describing payloads and recipients for these vehicular communications. The method includes executing a set of digital twin simulations based on the context data to generate communication plan data describing a communication plan for transmitting a set of non-vehicular communications which include a same payloads and recipients for the set of vehicular communications.
