Abstract:
A suspension package includes a platform having a product support surface and first and second end portions on opposite ends of the product support surface. A flexible product retainer sheet has a first part secured to the first end portion and a second part secured to an anchor panel. The product retainer sheet is dimensioned to retain a product on the product support surface when the panel is held against the second end portion, as for example by an outer container or by a releasable attachment.

Abstract:
A packaging device includes upper and lower container portions that support respective frames that, in turn, support respective support films. The frames and the container portions are configured such that the act of installing the frames in the container portions automatically increases tension in the films. This can be accomplished by rotating opposed portions of the frames in opposite directions, by displacing the film out of the plane in which it is originally supported by the frame, or by displacing opposed portions of the frame away from one another. The film of the lower container portion is recessed with respect to a peripheral lip of the lower container portion, while the film of the upper container portion protrudes beyond the peripheral lip of the upper container portion. In this way objects are prevented from rolling out of the lower container portion, yet the films are brought into face-to-face contact when the packaging device is closed.

Abstract:
A suspension package includes upper and lower covers. The covers include oval exterior walls that define oval product-receiving wells. Oval mounting rings are mounted to the covers to support resilient films over the wells. The covers define generally rectangular inner exterior walls that support hinges along a hinge axis. By combining rectangular covers adjacent to hinges with oval covers spaced from the hinges, material costs are reduced and fabrication is simplified.
