About:
Everyday, I think about life in the water: either I am writing about microbes in the water, I am on the water doing ship-based research, or I am swimming.
Tagline:
I am an oceanographer at University of Washington. It's an awesome job.
Bragging Rights:
In my spare time, I compete in pool swim meets and open water swimming. The best award I have gotten was a bottle of red wine for winning my age group in an Escape from Alcatraz swim in 2012. My half-Ironman triathlon team won the Lake Stevens team event in 2011 and 2012 - that was a cool trophy :)
