Abstract:
An exoskeleton that typically provides human power and endurance augmentation is adapted for use with a simulator system that generates a virtual environment by accepting and processing commands from the simulator to implement gross motor virtual feedback in which some motions of the exoskeleton's wearer (called the “pilot”) are constrained by the exoskeleton to simulate the interaction of the pilot with virtual objects in the virtual environment. In this way, the pilot can interact with virtual objects generated by the simulator system not only visually but through touch as well. For example, a pilot in a combat simulation can move along a virtual wall by feel while maintaining cover from enemy fire and perform actions like pushing virtual objects to clear obstacles from a path.
Multiple-Entity Scenario Simulation Incorporating Human Interaction

International Classification:
G06F 17/50
US Classification:
703 6
Abstract:
Mechanisms for incorporating a human into an automated multiple-entity scenario simulation are disclosed. A Petri-net message processor function (PMPF) receives a first Petri-net message from a source activity node function (ANF). The Petri-net message includes a simulation activity identifier that identifies a first simulation activity. The PMPF routes the first Petri-net message to a first ANF based on the simulation activity identifier. The first ANF receives the first Petri-net message and provides a message to a user based on the first Petri-net message. A response is received from the user. A second Petri-net message is generated based on the response and is communicated to a destination ANF to trigger a second simulation activity by the destination ANF.

Abstract:
A system and method include a computer implemented training framework that adapts its behavior to different types of training goals. The system utilizes a measured neuro-physiological state of a student to provide at least one of self regulation feedback and training environment feedback to optimize a learning experience for one or more different types of scenarios.

Abstract:
An optical system is provided. The optical system includes a lens element and a lens element holder. The optical system also includes a display device holder that is configured to hold a display device having a single light-emitting panel. The lens element includes a right-eye reflective surface and a left-eye reflective surface. The right-eye reflective surface includes a first plurality of different surface elements oriented to reflect and collimate light from corresponding different regions of a first portion of the light-emitting panel toward a predetermined right-eye location, and the left-eye reflective surface includes a second plurality of different surface elements oriented to reflect and collimate light from corresponding different regions of a second portion of the light-emitting panel toward a predetermined left-eye location.
Head-Wearable Ultra-Wide Field Of View Display Device

International Classification:
G02B 27/01
Abstract:
Multiple-reflector ultrawide field of view (UWFOV) systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a head-wearable display device includes a frame, a narrow-beam light source fixed with respect to the frame, a UWFOV reflective surface fixed with respect to the frame, and a diverging reflective surface fixed with respect to the frame that is configured to receive light emitted from the narrow-beam light source and reflect the light toward the UWFOV reflective surface to spread the light completely across the UWFOV reflective surface.
