The woman who falsely accused three Duke lacrosse players of raping her in 2006 was charged Monday with murder in the death of her boyfriend. Crystal Mangum, 32, was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of larceny. Duke lacrosse accuser Crystal Mangum charged in boyfriend's death
The 32-year-old was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill in the April 3 stabbing. The victim, Reginald Daye, 46, died in the hospital last Wednesday from his injuries.
Charged with murder, she is accused of stabbing her boyfriend, Reginald Daye, during an argument. Police were dispatched to 3507 Century Oaks Drive at 3:15 a.m. April 3, and found Daye stabbed in the torso. Daye, 46, died last Wednesday at Duke Hospital, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael has said.
