The private club, which has a membership of 2,400, announced that Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam, Britain's Princess Anne and Americans Louise Suggs and Renee Powell were among the seven women who were given honorary memberships.
Lally Segard, one of France's greatest golfers, Louise Suggs, a pioneer on the LPGA Tour, and Renee Powell, the first woman to become a head professional at a golf club in the UK, are also included in the seven-strong list of honorary members.

Renee Powell followed Althea Gibson, who had won major championships in tennis, to become the second black woman golfer on the LGPA Tour. Powell said she endured some of same treatment that Sifford received, including racial epithets on the course and death threats off it.
Along with its donations to girls golf, the tournament pays tribute to the LPGA's founding and legendary players. This week's special guests are Kathy Whitworth, who holds the tour record of 88 victories, and Renee Powell, who was the second African-American player in tour history.
In the golf world, she has carried a dual identity. She is Tiger's niece as well as a black woman with a chance of becoming only the fourth one of her race to play full-time on the LPGA Tour -- following Althea Gibson, Renee Powell and LaRee Sugg.
