Abstract:

The invention is a secure server, or trust engine, having server-centric keys, or in other words, storing cryptographic keys and user authentication data on a server. Users access cryptographic functionality through network access to the trust engine; however, the trust engine does not release actual cryptographic keys or other authentication data. Therefore, the system provides that the keys and data remain secure. The server-centric storage of keys and authentication data provides for user-independent security, portability, availability, and straightforwardness, along with a wide variety of implementation possibilities.

Abstract:

A projectile launching device is disclosed herein having, in its simplest form, a single elongated launching tube or barrel, onto the rearward end of which is pivotally mounted a lever assembly having a latch member and a release member coupled to one another about the pivot. The release member extends across the rearward end of the barrel and the latch member extends forwardly along the barrel. The barrel is open at its forward end to receive a shaftlike projectile. A hook is carried at the forward end of the latch member to protrude through a slot radially into the barrel for engagement with a tab on the projectile shaft. A spring, housed inside the barrel, rests against the release member of the lever assembly such that when a projectile is inserted into the barrel it compresses the spring against the release member and pivots the lever assembly to force the hook into the barrel and into engagement with the projectile tab, thereby preventing the spring from ejecting the projectile from the barrel. A trigger operated hammer as might be found in a conventional firearm is pivotally coupled to a barrel supporting frame to allow the hammer's striking surface to strike the release member at the rearward end of the barrel to pivot the lever assembly to a releasing position which disengages the hook from the tab on the projectile, allowing the spring to launch the projectile from the barrel.

Abstract:

A mechanical projectile launcher utilizes novel cocking, advancement and indexing mechanisms for sequentially launching projectiles from a plurality of barrels. A linearly traveling handle is employed in the operations of both a firing mechanism and an advancement mechanism. A novel indexing mechanism utilizes a series of drive surfaces and alignment channels on a rotary element to allow a single advancement drive member, such as a pawl, to induce precise sequential alignment between a plurality of launching barrels and a firing mechanism, without the need for additional indexing members.

Abstract:

A multi-shot airgun employs a hand crank for cocking and firing of an air pump, and advancement of a multi-projectile magazine. Turning the crank causes the pump's plunger to be cycled back and forth to cock and discharge the pump. Turning the crank additionally actuates a projectile advancement mechanism. The advancement mechanism sequentially positions a plurality of projectiles in firing alignment with an air discharge port of the pump. Continuous rotation of the crank results in discharge of the projectiles in rapid succession. A high capacity magazine is provided in the form of a long, continuously looped ammunition belt to allow extended firing time between loadings.

Abstract:

Air operated apparatus for successively launching a plurality of projectiles are disclosed. The apparatus employ novel constructions for multi-projectile magazines wherein projectiles may be launched from either the inner passageways of a plurality of barrels, or from the exteriors of the barrels. The magazines are designed for economical production as a molded unit. The apparatus are adapted so that an air pump may be cocked and the magazine advanced in a single operation through the use of a hand drawn slide mechanism. The invention further provides novel mechanisms for intermittent sealing of an air pump discharge port with successively selected projectile launching barrels on the magazine.
