Abstract:

A front-discharge nitrate truck with an articulated boom is disclosed. The boom is anchored about a pivot point which allows it to travel in a horizontal arc of at least 180. degree. A joint in the boom near the anchor point enables the boom to be elevated in a substantial vertical arc. The boom elevation and orientation can be controlled by controls within the truck cab to locate the distal end of the boom at any ground position within a horizontal arc described by the distal end of the boom. The boom may further be folded alongside the truck for easy transport. The truck has its bed upon scales so that the truck operator may discharge a predetermined amount of prilled nitrate in a bore hold.

Abstract:

A hydrometallurgical process for the recovery of precious metal values from refractory precious metal ore materials containing preg-robbing carbon by leaching with a thiosulfate lixiviant, the process comprising a. providing a body of particles and/or particulates of an ore material having precious metal values and preg-robbing carbonaceous components; b. contacting the body of particles and/or particulates with a thiosulfate lixiviant solution at conditions conducive to the formation of stable precious metal thiosulfate complexes; c. recovering the thiosulfate lixiviant from the body of particles and/or particulates after a period of contact which is sufficient for the lixiviant solution to become pregnant with precious metal values extracted from the ore material; and d. recovering the precious metal values from the lixiviant solution. In a preferred embodiment, the refractory ore materials are low grade precious metal ore materials.

Novel compositions of recombinant human CC10 protein have been generated by chemically modifying the pure protein in vitro. Several new synthetic preparations containing isoforms of chemically modified rhCC10 have been generated by processes that utilize reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species. These preparations contain novel isoforms of rhCC10 which have been characterized with enhanced or altered biological properties compared to the unmodified protein. Preparations containing novel isoforms may be used as standards to identify and characterize naturally occurring isoforms of native CC10 protein from blood or urine and ultimately to measure new CC10-based biomarkers to assess patient disease status. These preparations may also be used to treat respiratory, autoimmune, inflammatory, and other medical conditions that are not effectively treated with the unmodified protein.
