Abstract:

A method for charging a battery, such as a lithium based battery, which applies different charge pulses and discharge pulses to the battery, takes voltage measurements during those charge pulses, discharge pulses, and rest periods between the charge pulses and discharge pulses, and determines whether to terminate or to continue charging the battery. The full sequence of charge pulses, discharge pulses, and rest periods, includes a plurality of charge pulses ( ), separated by rest periods ( ) and followed by a rest period ( ). This is then followed by a plurality of discharge pulses ( ), separated by rest periods ( ) and followed by a rest period ( ). Abstract:

An apparatus and method are provided for accurately recording measurements of a window and producing accurate window treatments. A reference strip is provided having measurement indicia thereon, such as a checkerboard pattern of squares of predetermined sizes. The reference strip may be placed proximate a window and photographed. The size of the window may be accurately determined from the resulting photograph using the associated reference strip. The window may also be measured and the measurements stored as biographic data and associated with the photograph to form an accurate and verifiable window biography. The biography may be provided to another party, such as a treatment manufacturer, who verifies the measurements of the biographic data using photograph and produces a suitable window treatment according to the measurements.

A dynamic and customizable vehicle display system may include a flexible and addressable display panel that is conformable and attachable to a non-planar vehicle surface. A display module may receive data signals from a vehicle and send control signal to generate desired images on the addressable display. The display may operate in a plurality of modes and may switch modes upon the occurrence of a particular event. A user input device may be provided to customize the characteristics of the displayed images and the display module may be programmed to dynamically change image characteristics in response to the occurrence of particular events.

Abstract:

Systems and methods are provided for front contacts utilized with electroluminescent displays. The method includes arranging a plurality of electroluminescent elements, where each electroluminescent element includes at least one top electrode, and where the electroluminescent elements are operable to emit electroluminescence from the top electrode, and providing a conductive layer, where the conductive layer is flexible and substantially transparent. The method further includes adhering the conductive layer to a first top electrode of a first electroluminescent element of the plurality of electroluminescent elements and to a second top electrode of a second electroluminescent element of the plurality of electroluminescent elements. The system includes a flexible support structure and a plurality of electroluminescent elements arranged on the flexible support structure, where each electroluminescent element includes at least one top electrode, and where the electroluminescent elements are operable to emit electroluminescence from the top electrode. The system further includes a conductive layer, where the conductive layer is flexible and substantially transparent and where the conductive layer is electrically connected to a first top electrode of a first electroluminescent element of the plurality of electroluminescent elements and a second top electrode of a second electroluminescent element of the plurality of electroluminescent elements.

A flexible movie theater display is presented. In an exemplary embodiment, the movie display of the invention is in the form of a FLEXED, a flexible emissive display, comprising a flexible substrate, display elements coupled to the flexible substrate, and conductors used to deliver a drive voltage to the display elements. A FLEXED of the invention can be partitioned among conductors to provide a cinema-sized uniformly bright display. A FLEXED of the invention can be mounted on multiple surfaces of a theater to provide a FLEXED Surround experience for the viewer. A FLEXED can be used to display digital recordings, allowing movie studios and distributors to save costs by eschewing film for digital production alternatives. A FLEXED of the invention is an economical lightweight display that is easy to manufacture, distribute and install.

A lightweight display includes a plurality of display modules having a plurality of pixels carried by a display mounting frame. A support frame integral with the display mounting frame provides support. An electronic support member carries electrical components electrically communicating with the plurality of display modules for controlling the display of an image.
