Abstract:

An object with a dynamically changeable configuration is provided. The outer surface configuration and/or the weight displacement configuration can be dynamically changed to alter the characteristics of the object, which can be a toy, such as a football, baseball or flying disc. To change the outer configuration of the object, a cover having an outer surface and at least one aperture therethrough is provided. A surface changing member, such as a bladder, is urgable into the at least one aperture to dynamically change the outer surface of the object. To change the weight displacement of the object, the main body includes a first chamber and a second chamber therein where fluid, such as gas or liquid, can flow therebetween. The positioning of the fluid within the first chamber and the second chamber is controlled by a pump and valve system. As a result, the weight displacement of the object is dynamically changeable.

Abstract:

A process for making a soft touch outer surface for an object includes the steps of first providing a core to receive a soft touch outer surface thereon and providing a mold member having a mold cavity. The core is then placed inside the mold cavity. A low durometer elastomer, having a Shore 00 hardness of 70 or less, or a low density foamed plastic, having a specific gravity of specific gravity between 0.1 and 0.7 is injected into the mold cavity to surround the core in 360 degrees to provide a predetermined thickness of a cushioning layer. The core, with cushioning layer thereon, is demolded from the mold by which it was formed. The outer surface of the cushioning layer is then covered with a finish layer.

An adjustable wrist rest assembly includes a base housing and a pump assembly residing in the housing. A bladder is provided in fluid communication with the pump where the bladder is configured and arranged to receive a user's wrist region thereon. A optional pump button may be connected to the pump assembly with an optional release button connected to the pump assembly.
