Abstract:
A lighting system adapted to mount on a motorcycle or bicycle helmet. The lighting system includes a one or more accelerometers coupled to the helmet and a processor adapted to process the signals from the accelerometers. The accelerometers may be mounted to the helmet, or the motorcycle or bicycle. The lighting system further includes a light mounted on the helmet that is responsive to the processed signal such that the light illuminates as result of a deceleration force. The system may also include filtering software to remove helmet motion artifact and other noise from the signal. Remote wheel speed indicators may also be used in conjunction with or in place of the accelerometers. Mounting tabs may also be included to releasably attach the lighting unit to the helmet.
Low-Cost Graphic Input Device With Uniform Sensitivity And No Keystone Distortion
The invention provides a graphic input device which has uniform sensitivity and is free of keystone distortion but which is lighter and less expensive to manufacture than the prior art, particularly for large drawing surfaces. It uses Fresnel optics to reduce the cost, thickness, and weight of the prism or collimator or both. Means are provided to mitigate the effects of lens flare from the Fresnel optics, minimize the thickness of the device, and to correct any remaining distortion in the camera's image using software executing on a standard computer.

Graphic Input Device With Uniform Sensitivity And No Keystone Distortion
A graphic input device is described which has uniform sensitivity and is free from keystone distortion. The device includes a triangular prism with one face thereof defining the drawing surface. A camera is mounted on the other side of the drawing surface in a manner to capture light rays which have been totally internally reflected from the drawing surface. A collimating lens is mounted between the prism and the camera and is oriented such that its focal point is coincident with the camera's viewpoint and its principal surface is normal to the camera's optical axis. By placing the camera's viewpoint at the focal point of the collimator, the principal image forming rays will all be parallel within the transparent material. Thus they will intersect the drawing surface in equal angles, providing equal sensitivity everywhere. By making the optical axis of the camera normal to the principal surface of the collimator, these rays will all be made to traverse equal distances while converging towards the viewpoint.
A computer graphic input device is disclosed for imaging the points of contact between objects and a surface. The input device is defined by a transparent material with one surface thereof defining a drawing surface. The index of refraction of the material is greater than the index of refraction of the medium on the upper side of the drawing surface. In the preferred embodiment, the transparent material is prism shaped in configuration. A camera is mounted on the lower side of the drawing surface in a manner to only capture light rays which have been totally internally reflected from the drawing surface. By this arrangement, objects located on the upper side of the drawing surface will be imaged by the camera only when and where the object is in direct contact with the drawing surface. The size and shape of the input pattern is digitized, processed and displayed on a monitor. The subject apparatus can be used to produce graphic effects achieved by various natural drawing implements, such as a brush.

The present disclosure provides methods, systems, and apparatuses relating to hardware configurations for performing multi-wavelength three dimensional (3D) printing using photoinhibition. In at least one aspect, a system for 3D printing comprises a reservoir capable of holding a liquid including a photoactive resin, a build head that undergoes relative motion within the reservoir during 3D printing of a 3D object on the build head, a light projection device that projects a photoinitiation light beam at a first wavelength into a build area within the liquid, and a plurality of light sources arranged with respect to the light projection device and the reservoir that project a plurality of photoinhibiting light beams into the build area at a second wavelength. Each of the plurality of photoinhibition light beams may be projected at a peak intensity in a different respective position in the build area.
