Startup Weekend Spokane
Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011. During this event I assembled and led a team of developers to create a video game prototype that we presented to a panel of judges at the end of the weekend. The prototype, and our presentation, led the judges to award us one of the four prizes being issued that weekend.

SpoCode Hackathon
The SpoCode Hackathon is a gathering of local software developers that focus on using new technology to solve old problems for the Inland NW. During the event I proposed a mobile app that would allow neighbors to communicate with each other securely in the same format as a neighborhood watch. The result was an app called My Neighborhood Watch. The Community Safety Award was given to us by a panel of judges after watching ours, and the entrants', presentations.
