Abstract:

A marine containment boom for oil spillage body of water surrounding a cargo vessel at a dock in which the boom is selectively dropped to the sea bed by flooding the boom with an anti-freeze solution or is raised to the surface by pumping air into the boom, and further includes a pipe attached to the boom for discharging a fire retardant solution in the containment area and another and another pipe attached to the boom which functions to siphon oil spillage in the containment area to a holding tank.

Abstract:

A containment boom has at least a portion of a semi-flexible pipe on which a containment skirt is mounted. The boom is permanently anchored to anchors on the sea bottom. A compressor is connected to pump air into the pipe to render it buoyant, to surround a moored vessel. The boom may be sunk, to permit movement of the vessel by pumping water into the pipe.

Abstract:

A medical waste handling device in which the medical waste material, including syringes, are ground and crushed in a grinding unit while being sanitized and subjected to a cold temperature of about -50. degree. F. to make the waste material brittle, passing the fragmented waste material into a removable receptacle in a housing and in which the receptacle is further provided with a disinfectant to secondarily sanitize the medical waste material.
