Abstract:
A method of making a shingle and the shingle made in accordance with such method are provided, in which a shingle-forming layer of shingle material has a plurality of marks applied thereto prior to or after application of decorative granules to its tab region, and wherein the locations of the marks are sensed by a sensor, that then activates and controls the operation and placement of various shingle-completion steps as a function of the placement of the marks.

Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to photovoltaic systems. The present invention relates more particularly to photovoltaic roofing systems in which photovoltaic elements are disposed upon roofing elements such as shingles, tiles, shakes or slates. For example, in one embodiment, the present invention provides a photovoltaic roofing system for use on a roof deck, the photovoltaic system comprising: a first plurality of horizontally-arranged roofing elements disposed on the roof deck, each having a headlap region and a butt region having a bottom end; a bus bar batten system extending across the headlap regions of the first plurality of roofing elements, the bus bar batten system comprising one or more rigid supports and an electrical interconnection system; a first plurality of photovoltaic elements, each disposed on a butt region of one of the first plurality of roofing elements, each operatively engaged with the electrical interconnection system of the bus bar batten system; and a second plurality of horizontally-arranged roofing elements disposed on the roof deck and covering the bus bar batten system and the headlap regions of the first plurality of horizontally-arranged roofing elements.

A multiple single-use bag mixing system utilizing lifting one end of the bag at a harmonic frequency determined by the viscosity of the fluids and bag dimensions. The bags are positioned on stationary racks with UV or white light source positioned over each bag were required. The degree of energy efficient gentile mixing is determine by a variable speed drive moving the ends of all the bags simultaneously on the racks.
Single-Use Biobags With Sendors: Do, Ph, Co2 And Temperature
A single-use biobag provided with at least two none invasive florescent-optical sensors. The sterile sensors inside the biobag secured by an adhesive backing or secured by a CLASS VI fitting assures the sterile environment of the fluids in the bags. The sensors detectors are located outside the bag and secured in a position to align the sensors with the detectors. Either Velcro on the detector and outside of the bag has been used for sensor/detector alignment or the detector is mounted on the containment vessel and biobag straps are used to assure position of the bag for sensor/detector alignment. The process variables to be measured by the fluorescent optical disposable sensors are: DO, pH, COand temperature. The biobag film is CLASS VI material and should be optically clear and free of interfering florescent compounds.
A (disposable) single-use closed mixing system consisting of a mixing impeller(s) on a shaft, the shaft being sealed to the top of the bag. The flexible bag is used as the reciprocating membrane. Bag sizes 1 to 10,000 liters, can be gamma sterilized or non-sterile. The bags can be round or square in shape. All components including the impeller, shaft and accessories are CLASS VI material. The impeller or impellers used for large bags can be round, or square with holes, flutes, fins, tubing or a combination of these to meet specific mixing requirements. A detachable electric or air powered actuator provides the reciprocating action. The impeller shaft is sealed to the bag eliminating the need for rotary seals. Disposal of the mixing system is environmentally friendly.
