Abstract:

An advertising apparatus and method utilizing a sheet of pre-cut removable and repositionable page marking stickers insertable into a magazine or other publication. The individual page markers can selectively include advertisements printed on the bottom surfaces of the markers, which include adhesive, as well as on the sheet surfaces underlying the page markers. Advertisements printed on the underside of a page marker (including under the adhesive) and on the associated portion of underlying sheet may directly or indirectly relate to or correspond to one another, and are exposed when the marker is peeled from the underlying sheet to mark a page of interest in the magazine for later reference. The advertisement on the marker is highly visible when the marker is used to mark a page. The advertisement on the exposed underlying sheet is visible whenever that page is open.

Abstract:

An electronic baseball game in which the display represents the prespective of a batter standing in the batter's box. In a preferred embodiment, a pitcher throws randomly selected pitches to the batter which move through a number of positions to end in or out of a strike zone and an operator may swing at the end pitch by depressing a hit key. The timing of the operator's depression determines the results of each swing.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for partially automatically designing a conduit network and automatically producing patterns for cutting out the sides of conduit sections from laminar material. The CAD-CAM system eliminates the detailing of fittings and other components of a heating and ventilating system, pattern type and dimensional data being fed directly, i. e. , without human intervention, from a memory in a CAD system to a CAM pattern generating and fabricating system. The patterns for the closed sides of the conduit network are developed from mathematical relationships specifying the geometry of basic pattern types. The patterns so developed are computed for optimum positioning with other developed patterns, most preferably with alignment of similarly shaped edges for sheet material optimization, and preferably with adjacent grouping of the patterns for each end product to facilitate location and assembly and, most preferably, in such a manner that each grouping can be severed from the sheet material with a single cut to facilitate use of sheet or coil stock shearing machinery.

Abstract:

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for creating, laying out and cutting patterns on laminar sheet material having particular application to air handling ducting which permits the fully automated creation of the patterns required to subsequently construct three-dimensional products such as fittings, which have heretofore only been designed by skilled technicians. Information representative of the geometric configurations of a group of basic pattern types, including mathematical relationships, is stored in digital form in a memory. From the basic pattern types, substantially all variations of the three-dimensional product can be developed. An operator specifies the type of fitting required and inputs selected actual basic dimensions of the product, the basic dimensions being those dimensions necessary to specify the overall dimensions of the product. The patterns for the closed sides of the product are developed from the mathematical relationships specifying the geometry of the basic pattern types in response to the input basic dimensions.
