Abstract:
A cupholder assembly is adapted for use in a vehicle for supporting containers. The cupholder assembly includes a housing having a receiving aperture formed therein. A tray is slidably connected within the receiving aperture for sliding movement between storage and use positions. The first and second cupholder arms are pivotally connected to the tray for pivotal movement between fully extended and fully retracted positions. Each cupholder arm includes a side wall for supporting a side of a container. Pivotal movement of each cupholder arm with respect to the tray is sufficiently frictionally inhibited to facilitate infinite adjustment of the cupholder arms between the fully extended and fully retracted positions for supporting containers of various sizes. The frictional inhibition is facilitated by a pinching structure in cooperation with a rubber portion on each cupholder arm. The cupholder arms are frictionally inhibited when the tray is in the extended use position, and are free to rotate as the tray moves from the use position toward a stored position within the housing.

Abstract:
A vehicle trim piece assembly for an interior of a vehicle includes a mount and a trim piece coupled to the mount. The trim piece has an inboard surface and an outboard surface, at least one projection extending from the outboard surface in a first direction to an outer surface, and a guard extending from the outboard surface in the first direction to a location beyond the outer surface. The projection is received within the at least one opening to secure the trim piece to the mount. In use, an airbag tether engages the guard which directs the tether over the projection so that the tether does not become snagged on the projection.

Abstract:
A grommet apparatus for a vehicle having a first floor and a second floor, and including a pin fixedly attached to a vehicle floor, a post attached to the pin; and a volcano grommet removably coupled to the post and including a volcano-grommet base member and a coupling member attached to each other such that the first floor is positioned therebetween. The pin and the post extend at least partially through the volcano-grommet base member and the coupling member, wherein the volcano-grommet base member and the post are equal in length.

Abstract:
A seat cover assembly, for a stowable vehicle seat having a seat structure extending from a seat bottom to at least a vehicle floor, includes a flexible cover assembly configured to couple to a lateral side of the vehicle seat and, in a concealing position, conceal at least a portion of the seat structure between the seat bottom and the vehicle floor when the seat is in a deployed position. The flexible cover assembly is configured to fold together as the vehicle seat is moved from the deployed position to a stowed position and unfold to the concealing position as the vehicle seat is moved from the stowed position to the deployed position.
