Abstract:

An anchor and procedure for placing a medical implant, such as for monitoring physiological parameters. The anchor includes a central body in which a medical implant can be received. Arms and members extend radially from first and second ends, respectively, of the central body. Each member defines a leg extending toward distal portions of the arms to provide a clamping action. The anchor and its implant are placed by coupling first and second guidewires to first and second portions of the anchor, placing an end of a delivery catheter in a wall where implantation is desired, inserting the anchor in the catheter with the guidewires to locate the anchor within the wall, deploying the arms of the anchor at one side of the wall followed by deployment of the members at the opposite side of the wall, and thereafter decoupling the guidewires from the anchor.

Abstract:

A transfer system for providing faster and increased volume processing of eggs having an overhead positioned egg conveyor. A rotating brush wheel positioned underneath the conveyor receives eggs and includes a first and second pluralities of bristles having, respectively, lesser and greater stiffness. An egg receiving reservoir exhibits a receiving lane positioned underneath and in alignment with the brush wheel for receiving and redirecting the eggs in a lane dedicated fashion to a subsequent egg handling operation. A plurality of spool bars are arranged in parallel extending and spaced apart fashion and defining a number of individual egg conveying lanes and each further include first and second spool bar portions secured in end-to-end fashion to establish an overall dimension. First and second drive supports are arranged at opposite ends of the spool bar portions, a third drive support arranged within the egg transfer mechanism and supporting opposing and intermediate engaging ends of each pair of spool bar portions. The intermediate drive support prevents sagging of the intermediate ends of the spool bar portions.

Abstract:

An assembly for preventing deformation of compliant pins when interconnecting two printed circuit boards with the pins includes a mechanism for limiting an amount of movement of a flexible portion of the pins. In one approach, a bar is placed within the flexible portion of the pins to block damaging movement. In another approach, wing portions of the pins are locked into a surface thus preventing movement of the pin that could cause damage to the flexible portion of the pin.

Abstract:

A open cavity semiconductor chip package that is leadless and does not have a metal lead frame as in conventional packages. The absence of a lead frame minimizes leakage paths and allows the novel package to be more readily fabricated as a hermetic package. A dual sided insulative or dielectric film is employed as the base interconnect between a semiconductor chip and outside contacts. Electrical connection from the top side of the film to the bottom side of the film is made through conductive micro-vias. The semiconductor chip is mounted on a paddle in a central opening in the film and wire bonded to pads on the film. After mounting of the chip, a cover or lid is attached to the film to encapsulate the assembly and maintain hermeticity of the package.

Abstract:

A connector for connection to a substrate for mounting electronic devices. The connector includes a plurality of coupling contacts pivotably disposed within a housing.
