Abstract:
A water- and oil-repellent composition comprises (a) a repellency-imparting, fluorochemical composition comprising at least one fluorine-containing aromatic ester oligomer comprising (1) at least two repeat units derived or derivable from the reaction of at least one dicarboxylic acid (or a derivative thereof) and at least one polyol, with the proviso that either the dicarboxylic acid (or derivative) or the polyol (or both) is aromatic or heteroaromatic, and (2) fluorochemical endgroups derived or derivable from the reaction of (i) the dicarboxylic acid (or derivative) and at least one fluorine-containing monoalcohol, or (ii) the polyol and at least one fluorine-containing monocarboxylic acid; and (b) a treatable substrate; with the proviso that, when the treatable substrate comprises a mixture of at least two polymers, the mixture is non-stratifying.
Fiber, fabric, film, molded or blown article comprising a water- and oil-repellent composition comprising a melt blend of components (a) and (b) in which:.
Antimicrobial 6,7-Dihydro-5,8-Dimethyl-9 Fluoro-1-Oxo-1H, 5H-Benzo (Ij) Quinolizine-2-Carboxylic Acid And Derivatives
The compound 6,7-dihydro-5,8-dimethyl-9-fluoro-1-oxo-1H,5H-benzo[ij]quinolizine-2-carbo xylic acid is disclosed as a potent antimicrobial agent with a broad spectrum of activity. Esters, acyl chlorides, alkylaminoalkyl ester salts and pharmaceutically acceptable carboxylate salts of the acid are also disclosed. Methods of using these compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds and synthetic intermediates for preparing these compounds are described.

Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company - Saint Paul MN
International Classification:
C07C12506 C10M10576
US Classification:
81156
Abstract:
Fluorochemical allophanates containing one or more monovalent fluoroaliphatic radicals having at least three fully fluorinated terminal carbon atoms and one or more allophanate moieties, the radicals and moieties bonded together by hetero atom-containing or organic linking groups are provided. These fluorochemical allophanates are useful in the form of aqueous dispersions or emulsions or organic solutions in the treatment of fibrous substrates, such as textile fibers, to impart oil and water repellency.

Abstract:
A microstrip circuit having a plurality of coplanar microstrips mounted on a common dielectric substrate. A planar circulator is coupled to a junction of the microstrips. The circulator includes a ferrite disc which lies in the plane of the substrate. The circulator also includes a biasing permanent magnet in the form of a planar, toroidal-shaped magnet having magnetic sections that are embedded in the dielectric substrate. The magnetic sections from a split cylinder that encircles the ferrite material while permitting the microstrips to pass therethrough.
