Abstract:
A virtual machine is migrated from a source physical machine to a target physical machine, where the virtual machine has an executable service and a monitoring agent for monitoring the executable service. In response to the migrating, a monitoring manager is started that issues a command to start the executable service. It is determined whether the command is for the executable service that is already running in the migrated virtual machine. In response to such determining, the started monitoring manager is associated with the already running executable service, where the monitoring manager cooperates with the monitoring agent to detect fault of the executable service.

Abstract:
A memory system is implemented by an array of large scale integrated dynamic random access memory elements. The memory elements are of a type that permit data way word storage on a page basis, each page being defined on a row boundary. Discovering that excess power consumption by the memory can result from successive memory operations made back-to-back to different page locations, the present invention provides counter means to count each immediately successive different page memory operations so that, when that count matches a maximum count, memory operations are stalled for a period of time.
Method And Apparatus For Controlling Access To An Asynchronous Communication Network
A method and apparatus for communication circuit acquisition in an information processing system for high throughput communication of digital information is disclosed. High throughput is achieved by providing acquire logic circuitry for acquiring a communication circuit among a multiplicity of communication circuits, which are preferably four-wire, full duplex bidirectional channels for serial communication of digital information, and by preferably providing full duplex, bidirectional communication of messages at a first rate and half duplex, unidirectional communication of large blocks of data at a second higher rate over the communication circuits. The acquire logic circuitry frees the processor included in a communication controller associated with each information processing element to perform other data processing functions so that the processor is not burdened by monitoring the availability of the communication circuits for transmission of digital information. The method and apparatus facilitate circuit implementation of an architecture for high throughput fault tolerant serial communication of digital information in a loosely coupled information processing system. Other features are also disclosed.
Video Streaming Management System For Enhanced User Engagement In A Subscribed Network
A video streaming management system and method are disclosed, which includes controlled display of a first visual interface that is managed by a first video service provider (VSP) of a plurality of subscribed VSPs. The video streaming management system is associated with the plurality of subscribed VSPs and a plurality of unsubscribed VSPs. An input for a first video is received via the first visual interface. The first video, based on the received input, is searched across a plurality of video services managed by the plurality of subscribed VSPs and the plurality of unsubscribed VSPs. A video service managed by a second VSP is recommended to view the first video selected from the first visual interface, based on the search. Playback of the first video is controlled from the recommended video service managed by the second video service provider.
