Abstract:
A microstrip circuit having a plurality of coplanar microstrips mounted on a common dielectric substrate. A planar circulator is coupled to a junction of the microstrips. The circulator includes a ferrite disc which lies in the plane of the substrate. The circulator also includes a biasing permanent magnet in the form of a planar, toroidal-shaped magnet having magnetic sections that are embedded in the dielectric substrate. The magnetic sections from a split cylinder that encircles the ferrite material while permitting the microstrips to pass therethrough.

Abstract:
A bubbling air mat has an air hose leading to a control unit having a motor therein. A number of saftey devices are provided to prevent a user from being electrocuted if water reaches the control unit. In the most protected area within the control unit, a rope heater is provided to warm an air stream being driven by said motor and through said air hose to bubble from the air mat.

Abstract:
A dielectric waveguide reciprocal ferrite phase shifter is provided for use n a dielectric waveguide transmission line. The phase shifter is comprised of a length of ferrite of the same cross-sectional dimension as that of the dielectric waveguide and in fact becomes a section of the transmission line. The length of ferrite bears a thin plastic layer on its top and bottom surface and metal plates on each piece of plastic. The length of this multilayer structure then has a wire coil wrapped around in order to provide a d. c. magnetic biasing field along the length of the ferrite thereby enabling magnetization of the ferrite resulting in a reciprocal phase shift or change in electrical length within the structure.

Abstract:
A composite microstrip circuit with a plurality of discrete microstrip conents made from materials having different dielectric constants mounted thereon. A transitional taper is formed on each discrete microstrip component at the point where a connection is made between other components or devices. The base on which the discrete microstrip components are positioned has a dielectric constant lower than any of the dielectric constants of the discrete components. The transitional taper results in a low cost, low loss interconnection between discrete microstrip components.

Abstract:
A cartridge for a water filter system has a closed housing with only an inlet and an outlet formed in the lower surface thereof. A discharge tube extends from the outlet at the bottom, through the housing, to a position near the top of the housing. There, an elongated sleeve of filter material filters the water leaving the housing. The space between the inlet and the filter sleeve is filled with three different filter materials, most of which is activated charcoal.
