Abstract:

A needle guide kit is provided which includes a needle guide, a retainer and a tether. The needle guide is coupled to an ultrasound device either directly or via an adapter. The needle guide has an open v-shaped slot which can receive a number of different needle sizes. The retainer can be attached to the needle guide to form a needle channel between the needle guide and retainer. Each retainer corresponds to a different needle size whereas each of the different needle guides correspond to a different trajectory for advancing the needle. The kit may also include a tether which is coupled to one of the components by the user. The tether prevents loss of one or more of the components when the components are detached or decoupled when completing the procedure.

Abstract:

A trolling motor system and method for controlling the trolling motor, including a microcontroller, a plurality of transducers, a steering motor, and an outboard motor. The user is allowed to input commands via a keypad and the selected mode of operation is displayed via an LCD screen. The microcontroller operates the transducer to transmit sonar signals and the return signals are received and processed accordingly. In the preferred embodiment, there are five transducers arranged in a manner such that the port (left side of the boat) and starboard (right side of the boat) sides as well as the bottom of the boat are scanned continuously. The microcontroller processes the signals according to the user-selected mode, determines the steering degree and the motor speed, transmits these values to the Steering Motor And Position controller and the Power Drive And Motor controller. In the preferred embodiment there are three automatic modes of operation: creek-tracking mode, depth-tracking mode, and shore-tracking mode.

A protective cover set for a medical probe that includes a joint that seals both a moisture resistant probe cover and a surrounding wrapper that provides a barrier against microbial intrusion into the space between the outer wrapper and the probe cover. The sealed joint fixes the probe cover in place in relation to the outer wrapper. In some examples, the sealed joint secures a prefabricated probe cover with a three-dimensional non-planar shape in relation to the outer wrapper.
