Abstract:

A method of applying a medicament using a disposable swab applicator formed of a swab and a housing including a reservoir member and an adjustable sleeve member is provided. The reservoir member has a channel formed therein for receiving and storing the medicament with the adjustable inner sleeve member also being disposed within the channel. The inner sleeve member has an open first end which receives the swab and a closed second end with one or more windows formed between the first and second ends. In a first position within the reservoir member, the closed second end of the inner sleeve member forms a seal with the reservoir member to effectively store the medicament in the reservoir member. Movement of the inner sleeve member from the first position to a second position causes the medicament to flow through the one or more windows into contact with the swab resulting in the swab being ready for use.

Abstract:

Pharmaceutical preparations are provided for directly treating a skin growth, such as a wart, or as drying agents for pre and post surgical removal of the skin growth or for non-surgical laser treatment of the skin growth where dryness is required. Abstract:

A diametric style steering wheel lock is disclosed having improved strength and resistance to forced removal, while, at the same time, demonstrating increased ease in actual use. The steering wheel lock utilizes an enclosed and protected dead bolt locking system providing positive and powerful diametric fixation of the device across a vehicle steering wheel. Although dead bolt operation is employed, the device demonstrates free rotation of one or both steering wheel rim engagement means facilitating placement of the device. In addition, the steering wheel lock advantageously incorporates longitudinally aligned adjustment and locking grooves located upon the surface of the locking rod to provide quick, keyless application of the lock including, extension, contraction and rotation further facilitating positioning thereof. Push-to-engage means as well as automatic dead bolt engagement is disclosed in the disclosed embodiments.

Abstract:

A method of increasing eustachian tube patency in human patients is disclosed wherein a eustachian tube targeting nasal administration device is utilized to deliver a surfactant/propellant mixture to the nasopharyngeal stoma of the auditory tube. The targeting capability of the administration device obviates the need for a spreading agent that would otherwise be required to enable at least a portion of surfactant to reach the eustachian tube orifice. More specifically, the non-targeting, indiscriminate delivery provided by nasal administration devices of the past required surfactant to spread over non-targeted tissue it was inadvertently applied to in order to reach the eustachian tube stoma. In addition, a method for treatment of otitis media is disclosed utilizing, in some preferred embodiments, a therapeutically active agent.

Abstract:

A nasal administration device is disclosed which enables delivery of a well collimated stream of medication through the nasal orifice of a human being to the pharyngeal orifice of the eustachian tube. The device utilizes alignment tabs to properly position the collimated stream utilizing facial landmarks and an alignment arrow to confirm such alignment. Certain preferred embodiments of the disclosed device include adjustable alignment tabs enabling more precise alignment for a range of facial profiles.
