Methods And Systems For Communicating Between Subscribers Of Different Application-Layer Mobile Communications Protocols
Rick L. Allison - Apex NC Thomas M. McCann - Morrisville NC
Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04Q 720
US Classification:
455466, 455445
Abstract:
A routing node communicates between subscribers of different application-layer mobile communications protocols, such as IS-41 and GSM, without converting each IS-41 message to GSM and vice versa. Rather than converting each message to the protocol of the intended recipient, the routing node functions as an HLR to provide the location of a mobile subscriber in a different application-layer mobile communications protocol and as an MSC to forward short message service messages to a short message service center of the other application-layer mobile communications protocol.
Methods And Systems For Preventing Delivery Of Unwanted Short Message Service (Sms) Messages
Rick L. Allison - Apex NC Peter J. Marsico - Carrboro NC
Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04Q 720
US Classification:
455466, 4554141
Abstract:
A signaling message processing and routing node transmits and receives short message service (SMS) data packets via a communications network. The routing node includes an SMS message discrimination module that determines whether an unwanted or spam SMS message is being sent to a receiving or called party. Unwanted SMS messages are discarded and consequently not delivered to their intended recipient. As a result, mobile subscribers and network nodes are shielded from unwanted SMS traffic. The SMS message discrimination module also includes a provisioning interface that allows end users and network operators to control SMS message discrimination criteria.
Methods And Systems For Providing Mobile Subscriber Surveillance

Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04Q007/20 G01S003/02 A61B005/02
US Classification:
4554561, 342457, 600504
Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing mobile subscriber surveillance identify certain call signaling messages as candidate messages for mobile subscriber surveillance. From the candidate messages, messages associated with mobile subscribers under surveillance are identified. Mobile subscriber location information is obtained for the messages associated with the mobile subscribers under surveillance. The location information is forwarded to a surveillance center, such as a state or federal law enforcement or security agency. The original call signaling messages are forwarded to their intended destinations so that surveillance is performed transparently to the mobile subscriber under surveillance.
Methods, Systems, And Computer Program Products For Flexible Global Title Translation (Gtt) Load Sharing
Rick L. Allison - Cary NC, US Peter J. Marsico - Chapel Hill NC, US Raghavendra G. Rao - Cary NC, US
Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04M 7/00
US Classification:
37922101, 3792212
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for flexible global title translation load sharing are disclosed. GTT load sharing groups are defined. Each GTT load sharing group may include one or more point codes. At least one of the point codes may appear in more than one of the GTT load sharing groups. When signaling messages requiring GTT are received, the signaling messages are load shared using the GTT load sharing groups.
Methods And Systems For Triggerless Mobile Group Dialing
Methods and systems for triggerless mobile group dialing are disclosed. A method for triggerless mobile group dialing includes intercepting call signaling messages that contain mobile dialing codes. For these call signaling messages, a mobile dialing group ID is determined based on the calling party address in the mobile call signaling messages if the mobile call signaling messages contain calling party addresses. The mobile dialing group ID and the mobile dialing code are used together to determine a full called party address for each of the signaling messages. In lieu of using a mobile dialing group ID, a method is also presented for directly associating combinations of full E. 164 calling party address digits and mobile dialing codes to full E. 164 called party address digits. The full called party address is inserted in each of the signaling messages and each message is routed to its intended destination.
Methods And Systems For Universal, Automatic Service Selection In A Telecommunications Signaling Network

International Classification:

US Classification:
379229, 370352, 370469
Abstract:
Methods and systems for universal, automatic service selection are disclosed. A method for universal, automatic service selection includes receiving signaling messages and identifying signaling connection control part (SCCP) messages from the signaling messages. The SCCP messages are decoded to extract SCCP parameters and application layer parameters from the messages. A routing address translation service is selected for each of the SCCP messages based on application identifiers that identify application layer message types alone or in combination with other parameters. Selecting the routing address translation service in this manner makes the service selection more robust and universally applicable, especially in networks where different or non-standard selector parameters are utilized.
Methods And Systems For Generating And Sending Messages In A Mobile Communications Network In Response To A Change In Location Of A Subscriber
Rick L. Allison - Holly Springs NC, US Thomas Matthew McCann - Morrisville NC, US Peter Joseph Marsico - Carrboro NC, US
Assignee:
Tekelec - Morrisville NC
International Classification:
H04Q 7/20
US Classification:
4554321, 455433, 455466, 455401
Abstract:
A message processing platform correlates mobile call signaling messages transmitted between a home location register (HLR) and a (VLR) when a mobile subscriber changes locations. The message processing platform generates a change in location indication message in response to a change in location of a mobile subscriber. The change in location indication message is sent to a short message service center, which forwards a short message service message to the mobile subscriber.
Methods And Systems For Triggerless Screening Of Wireless Message Service Messages For Delivery With Differential Quality Of Service
James Tjin-Tek Chang - Chapel Hill NC, US Rick L. Allison - Apex NC, US Thomas M. McCann - Morrisville NC, US
Assignee:
Tekelec - Calabasas CA
International Classification:
H04J 1/14
US Classification:
370496, 370252, 709227
Abstract:
Methods and systems for triggerless screening of WMS messages for delivery with differential quality of service (QoS) are disclosed. Signaling messages are screened to determine whether they contain WMS content. In response to determining that a message contains WMS content, origination and/or destination party information is extracted from the WMS message to determine the QoS associated with the WMS message. The WMS message is then modified to include routing information for delivering the SMS messages to their intended destinations with different qualities of service.
