Abstract:

A system and method is described for determining a scoring efficiency of a team engaged in a sport, such as baseball, softball or other sport in which runners attempt to advance from a series of base positions. A memory or database stores a total number of runs scored from scoring position and a total number of individual base runners that reached base from a single at-bat, over a predetermined interval, such as an inning, a series of innings, a game or a series of games. A processor, coupled to the memory, determine scoring efficiency by determining a ratio between the number of runs scored from scoring position and the total number of individual base runners that reached base from a single at-bat. An output device operatively connected the processor receives the scoring efficiency calculated by the processor and transmits or displays the scoring efficiency for evaluation of a team's efficiency in scoring from scoring position or preventing scoring from scoring position. A team's offensive, defensive, or overall scoring efficiency can be determined.

Abstract:

A system and method relates to allocating seats to a ticketed event. The method can include receiving a request for a number of seats at a ticketed event, selecting a first seat wherein the first seat is determined to be a best unassigned seat at the ticketed event, and determining a best grouping of seats wherein the best grouping of seats includes the number of seats requested and further wherein the best grouping of seats comprises the best unassigned seat at the ticketed event.

Abstract:

A system is provided for selectively presenting a portion of an event to a user. The system includes a first device, a second device, and a network allowing communication between the first and the second device. An application at the first device displays a plurality of sub-events that characterize an event; receives an input from a user whereby the user selects a sub-event from the plurality of sub-events; sends a request to a second device, the request comprising information associated with the selected sub-event; receives media data from the second device whereby the media data represents the selected sub-event; and presents the received media data. An application at the second device receives the request from the first device, selects the media data that represents the selected sub-event from a database using the information associated with the selected sub-event, and sends the selected media data to the first device.

A method for providing mobile messages includes generating a message based on received content. A first functional bind to an aggregator is identified. A second functional bind to the aggregator is also identified. The first functional bind and the second functional bind are distinct communication connections to the aggregator. First message recipients are associated with the first functional bind, and second message recipients are associated with the second functional bind. The message is provided in parallel to the aggregator for the first message recipients through the first functional bind and for the second message recipients through the second functional bind.

Abstract:

A semi-transparent, tray-like container having a flat bottom and substantially vertical side and end walls defining a storage space has flange-like projections on each side wall inner surface in proximity to but spaced from the bottom to define, with the bottom, a retaining channel which slidably receives a removable panel assembly containing a plurality of hinged overlapping transparent envelopes which can be flipped like pages to display flat objects such as photography, stamps, recipes and the like contained therein. The retaining channel holds the panel assembly securely in place with little or no movement even when the envelope pages are turned with the result that the flat objects remain organized and in place in the container for safe storage and convenient display. The container bottom is constructed with supporting legs which may project into the opening of a like container for stacked alignment therewith to provide a system of a plurality of stacked tray-like containers. Downwardly projecting bosses on the container bottom contact the top edge of the walls of an adjacent container of the stack to provide spacing between containers.

Abstract:

A system is provided for mounting a flat, display item such as a photograph, on a surface such as the pages of an album, a book, a report, or any other substrate. The system includes a one-piece, transparent pocket folded to define an upper display surface and an opposed lower surface. The pocket is open along at least one side edge to permit insertion of the item between the opposed surfaces. A layer of adhesive material is provided over substantially the entire lower surface of the pocket for adhesively mounting the pocket to the surface. The adhesive material, preferably a thermoplastic, pressure sensitive, medium tack adhesive, is initially releasable but after a period of time, forms a permanent bond between the pocket and the surface. An album for displaying such flat, display items is further provided. The album includes a plurality of pages for mounting the display items and a plurality of these one-piece pockets.
