Abstract:

A system for sanitizing and filtering air includes a chamber through which air passes, the chamber containing an ultraviolet light source. A sanitizing filter is removably mounted in the chamber, the filter containing a mechanical filtration media and a photocatalytic agent. The ultraviolet light illuminates the photocatalytic agent, and air passing through the chamber is purified by the photocatalytic agent and filtered by the mechanical filtration media. The system may also ionize the air, thereby polarizing particles in the air. When the polarized particles are caught in the filter they polarize the filter media, causing it to electrostatically attract other polarized particles in the air, thereby improving its filtration efficiency.

Abstract:

A handheld vacuum cleaner is provided that has a motor mounted with the rotational axis of its shaft parallel to the rotational axis of the rotating brush. The vacuum cleaner motor has an end bell, which is attached to the motor stator, and which holds a motor shaft bearing. The end bell is secured to the vacuum housing with an elastomeric mounting ring to dampen motor vibrations. The need for most motor mounting hardware is eliminated, because the housing supports the motor stator directly. The intake orifice of the vacuum is shaped to lie in two distinct planes, so that flat cleaning surfaces do not obstruct the orifice. The shape of the intake also allows one to clean immediately adjacent to a vertical wall.

A sheathing panel includes a barrier overlay secured to a panel; wherein the sheathing panel is bulk water resistant and has at least one of the following properties: a water vapor transmission rate of at least 7.0 grams per square meter per 24 hours (grams/m/24 hours) as determined by ASTM E96-15 procedure A at 73 F. and 50% relative humidity (RH), a water vapor permeance of at least 1.3 perms as determined by ASTM E96-15 procedure A at 73 F. and 50% relative humidity (RH), or an air infiltration rate of less than 0.2 liters per second per square meter (L/s-m) at 75 pascals (Pa) as determined by ASTM E2357-11.

Abstract:

An animal litter system can include a housing unit and a removable cartridge containing litter. The housing unit can include housing walls, a floor, and a lid at least partially enclosing an interior volume. An interior wall can be disposed in the housing unit and can divide the interior volume into first and second compartments. A first passageway can be defined by a housing wall to provide access between the first compartment and outside of the housing unit. A second passageway can be defined by the interior wall to provide access between the first and second compartments. The removable cartridge can be disposed in the second compartment and can include a plurality of cartridge walls and a bottom at least partially enclosing an interior volume. Each of the plurality of cartridge walls and the bottom of the removable cartridge can independently include a plastic, cellulosic fibers, or a mixture thereof.
