Abstract:
Improved nucleic acid arrays are provided which have been prepared using nucleoside phosphoramidites having reduced levels of interfering phosphoramidite impurities.
This specification describes technologies relating to digital images. In general, one aspect of the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods that include the actions of receiving a source wide-angle image; identifying one or more locally salient features of the source wide-angle image; calculating a mapping from the source wide-angle image to a two-dimensional mapped wide-angle image according to constraints using the identified one or more spatially variable salient features; and rendering the mapped wide-angle image using the calculated mapping such that the mapped wide-angle image reduces distortion of the locally salient features relative to the distortion of the source wide angle image.

Abstract:
A system and method for diagnostic testing of structures within a body, e. g. , organs within the body of a living being, which has been provided with a radioactive imaging agent, e. g. , a radiotracer, to cause the structure to produce gamma rays, associated characteristic x rays, and a continuum of Compton-scattered photons. The system includes a radiation receiving device, e. g. , a hand-held probe or camera, an associated signal processor, and an analyzer. The radiation receiving device is arranged to be located adjacent the body and the structure for receiving gamma rays and characteristic x rays emitted from the structure and for providing a processed electrical signal representative thereof. The processed electrical signal includes a first portion representing the characteristic x rays received and a second portion representing the gamma rays received. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the signal processor removes the signal corresponding to the Compton-scattered photons from the electrical signal in the region of the full-energy gamma ray and the characteristic x ray.

Abstract:
A shield for use with a radiation detecting probe to effect the detection, localization, imaging or mapping of radiation in a first portion of the body of a living being by use of a hand held, radiation detecting probe. The probe has a conical field of view. The shield comprises a sheet formed of a radiation blocking material, e. g. , pure tungsten, tungsten alloys, tungsten powder suspended in gold, pure gold, gold alloys, pure platinum, and platinum-iridium alloys, and is sized to be readily located within a space within the body of the being so that the first portion of the body of the being is interposed between it and the probe, with the shield filling up a substantial portion of the field of view of the probe. In one embodiment the shield is mounted on the probe by an adjustable yoke assembly. In another embodiment the shield is separate from the probe.

Switched-Capacitor Converters With Capacitor Pre-Charging
A switched-capacitor converter includes a rectifier at the output, a plurality of legs coupled between the input and the rectifier, and a controller. Each leg of the switched-capacitor converter includes a capacitor, and a switch device is connected to each leg. A first group of the legs is coupled to a first branch of the rectifier, and a second group of the legs is coupled to a second branch of the rectifier. The controller alternates switching of the first and second groups of legs after startup, to transfer energy from the input to the output during a first part of each switching cycle via the first group of legs and to ground during a second part of each switching cycle via the second group of legs. The controller or a current limited source provides for pre-charging of at least one of the capacitors during startup.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for assessing comfort levels associated with user experience of a virtual reality environment is provided. In an embodiment, during execution of a virtual reality program by a client computer that causes generating and displaying a virtual reality environment via a virtual reality display device that is coupled to the client computer, a set of comfort level processing instructions are programmed to perform receiving a programmatic call from the virtual reality program that invokes comfort level processing; generating and causing the client computer to display a prompt panel within the virtual reality environment that prompts selecting a comfort value indicating a relative level of user comfort associated with the virtual reality environment; receiving an input signal indicating a selection of the comfort value; creating in memory of the client computer a digital message that includes the comfort value, one or more names of metadata attributes associated with the virtual reality environment, and one or more metadata values corresponding to the names of metadata attributes and indicating one or more aspects of a state of the virtual reality environment at a time that the digital message is created; transmitting the digital message from the client computer to a server computer over a data network.
Methods, apparatuses, and embodiments related to aligning an image of a table of a form with an image of a table of a template of the form. Automatically extracting data entered in fields of a table of a form by a user can be aided by matching the form with a template of the form. The form template can have a digitized representation that identifies locations of fields of the form, and that identifies labels of the fields. Matching the form with the form template can enable locations and labels of fields of the form to be identified based on the digitized representation. However, matching the form with the form template may require matching the table of the form with the table of the form template, and matching two tables can be challenging. For example, the tables can be rotated, warped, scaled, etc. relative to each other.
