Abstract:An electric arc furnace and method for forming tubular carbon nanostructures comprising a first electrode (cathode) and an a second electrode (anode) opposite the first electrode, sources of voltage (V) and current (A) to create charged particles (Ie) and produce an arch between the electrodes, a source of a gas to surround the arc, and a source of carbon precursor positioned adjacent the anode and within the arc, wherein the arc is maintained at a pressure and high temperature for a time sufficient to heat the carbon precursor to form carbon nonotubes upon the anode.

Abstract:Nanostructured carbon electrode usable for electrochemical devices and methods of fabricating the same. The method of fabricating a nanostructured carbon electrode includes providing a carbon material of large-effective-surface-area polyaromatic hydrocarbon (LPAH), mixing the carbon material of LPAH with a surfactant in a solution to form a suspension thereof; depositing the suspension onto a substrate to form a layered structure; and sintering the layered structure at a temperature for a period of time to form a nanostructured carbon electrode having a film of LPAH.

Abstract:A printer stand is provided with a rear, chute-like paper guide. A pair of slidable trays are provided, with the upper tray serving as a store for blank input paper for a printer supported on the stand, while the lower tray serves as a store for the printed, output paper from the printer. The paper guide has a first, rear, inclined guide wall with a lower edge surface that is spaced rearwardly of the rearmost portion of the upper tray for proper clearance for the output paper on its passage to the lower tray. The paper guide also has a second guide wall spaced forwardly of the first wall, which together with the first wall forms the chute-like passageway for the output paper. The first and second guide walls are connected to the rear of the printer-stand supporting surface, and there are provided upper guide surfaces for directing the output paper toward the chute and away from the path of input paper.

Abstract:A wire form computer stand with a drop-style keyboard retaining tray is disclosed. The system includes a track system pivotally mounted to the stand's enclosure and a tray is slidably mounted within the track for storage within the stand or positioning externally of the stand in a lowered position. This system permits use of a limited surface area, permits the mounting of a monitor at a convenient height, as well as the positioning of the keyboard at a lower more comfortable height. The system is fabricated from rod or wire bent to shape which is coated with a protective coating that also reduces friction at sliding surfaces. This method of fabrication is less expensive to manufacture and sale of the system.
