Methods for synchronously transmitting control data from a first device to a second device in a streaming data network and for transferring non-addressed data through a streaming data network are disclosed. A first device may insert an identifier identifying a second device into data packets transmitted over a streaming data network. A first acknowledgement may be received from the second device at the first device. At least a portion of the control data may be inserted into the data packets at least until a second acknowledgement is received at the first device. The previous step may be repeated with additional portions of the of the control data until all control data has been transmitted to the second device. The identifier may then be removed from the data packets at least until a third acknowledgment is received at the first device.

Abstract:
A data transmission and distribution system that includes a series of payloads. Each of the payloads is formed from samples of audio or video information. The system interleaves the audio or video samples in each payload where no two consecutive samples are lost upon a loss of an entire frame of the interleaved samples.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for forming data packets from a plurality of devices are disclosed. A first data slot may be assigned to a device that receives first data from its input interface. A second data slot may be assigned to a second device that receives second data from its input interface. The first data and the second data may be converted into different or similar digital formats. A packet, including the converted first data in the first data slot may be transmitted from the first device and received at the second device. The second device may update the packet to include the converted first data in the first data slot and the converted second data in the second data slot. The second device may then transmit the updated packet. A device may copy, convert and transmit data from either data slot via an output interface associated with the device.
A carrier apparatus for use by fire fighters to carry fire hose, and to serve as a personnel carrier; a carrier body of flaccid material about five feet long has a bottom and side walls, and at one end there is an end wall, and portions of the side walls adjacent the end wall being perpendicular to the bottom and end wall. Handles and securing straps are provided. A continuous length of fire hose is placed in two side by side stacks, with a connecting portion from one stack to the other; a strap with hook and pile type fastener, such as sold under the trademark Velcro fastener extends around one stack and is released by force applied through the connecting portion of the fire hose.

Abstract:
A yarn measuring instrument having a rotatably mounted operative element whose rotation in response to frictional engagement thereof by travelling yarn cooperates with electronic circuit means to measure a plurality of characteristics of the travelling yarn is provided with means for capturing the travelling yarn and placing it in frictional engagement with the operative element. The yarn capturing means includes an arm which has a free end provided with yarn retaining means. The arm is mounted within the instrument for movement between a projected position thereof in which the yarn retaining means extends outwardly of the instrument and a retracted position thereof in which the yarn retaining means extends inwardly of the instrument, whereby travelling yarn captured in the retaining means when the arm is in its projected position automatically frictionally engages the operative element when the arm is moved to its retracted position.
A carrier apparatus for use by fire fighters to carry fire hose, and to serve as a personnel carrier; a carrier body of flaccid material about five feet long has a bottom and side walls, and at one end there is an end wall, the portions of the side walls adjacent the end wall being perpendicular to the bottom and end wall. A continuous length of fire hose is placed in two side by side stacks, with a connecting portion from one stack to the other; a strap with hook and pile type fastener, such as sold under the trademark Velcro fastener extends around one stack and is released by force applied through the connecting portion of the fire hose.
An identification and information carrying assembly for use with a fire/rescue personnel accountability system includes a folded sheet of information-carrying material covered and sealed within transparent thermoplastic laminates. A cord is attached to the laminates, and a connector is attached to the cord for enabling the assembly to be removably fastened to fire/rescue helmets, clothing or other objects. Confidential medical information and/or medication contained within the folded sheet of laminated material is accessed by cutting the laminates along three edges of the folded sheet to permit the folded sheet to open like a book. The folded sheet of material can be resealed by use of clear adhesive tape along the three edges, and the confidential medical information and/or medication can be accessed again and again by such cutting and resealing.
A storage drum adapted to have yarn wound thereon tangentially adjacent the rear end thereof for forming thereon a plurality of windings which advance axially toward the forward end thereof. The drum comprises a surface of revolution about the longitudinal axis thereof, which has a yarn loading section and a yarn winding accumulating section joined together at a point of inflection. The yarn loading section extends rearwardly of the point of inflection and the yarn accumulating section extends forwardly of the point of inflection. The loading section is shaped so that a tangent thereto immediately rearwardly of the point of inflection forms an angle with the drum axis whose tangent is greater than the coefficient of static friction between yarn and drum surface and so that tangents to progressively more rearward points along the loading section form progressively larger angles with the drum axis. The accumulating section is shaped so that a tangent thereto immediately forwardly of the point of inflection forms an angle with the drum axis whose tangent is less than the coefficient of dynamic friction between yarn and drum surface and so that tangents to progressively more forward points along the accumulating section form progressively smaller angles with the drum axis.
After Sheehan pulled the ball away from receiver Robert Clemens in front of Yale's sideline and raced down for the score with 6 seconds to play in the third, the Bulldogs answered with a quick scoring drive, capped by Varga's second scoring run of the game. The Bulldogs scored again on their next po
