Abstract:

A vacuum receiver for a pneumatic conveyor for conveying, e. g. , plastic pellets, having a receiving vessel with a material inlet, a material outlet and a conveying gas outlet. A first valve member is provided for opening and closing the conveying gas outlet, and a second valve member is provided for opening and closing the material outlet. Both valve members are connected to a common valve shaft and actuated by a single actuator mounted on a vessel lid. The vacuum receiver of the invention has the advantage of affording positive control and sealing of the material discharge valve while at the same time being economical to manufacture and easily cleaned.

Abstract:

A vehicle powered by an operator's arms and/or legs utilizes a pivot column for propulsion. An upper propulsion member (handlebar) is provided on the upper end of the pivot column. A lower propulsion member (foot bar) is provided on the lower end of the pivot column. A drive propulsion system is provided between the pivot column bottom and a rotational drive gear set. The drive propulsion system engaged with said at least one rotational drive gear, the propulsion system engages with and provides propulsion to an upper portion of the rotational drive gear during a counterclockwise motion of the pivot column and engages with and provides propulsion to a lower portion of the rotational drive gear during a clockwise motion of the pivot column. The rotational drive gear spins freely when subjected to the reverse motion. Incorporating two gears with opposing propulsion drives provides forward motion throughout the entire reciprocating stroke of the pivot column.

Abstract:

An apparatus for dehumidifying air includes a first air path having a first opening, a second opening, and a first desiccant mass intermediate the first and second opening, a second air path, having a first opening, a second opening, and a second desiccant mass intermediate the first and second opening, and an apparatus for causing air selectively from either the first air path or the second air path to flow to an outlet of the apparatus, wherein the ratio of the weight of each of the desiccant masses to the air flow rate into the apparatus outlet is about 1 pound of desiccant for each 10 to 20 cubic feet per minute of air flow. A controller adjusts regeneration heating times based on detected dew point before switching between air paths and detected temperature after switching air paths.

Abstract:

A control device having a support and a first selector member rotatably carried by the support. A second selector member is rotatably carried by the support and is axially movable relative to the support and the first selector member. The selector members are coupled together in a manner to cause the first selector member to rotate in unison with the second selector member when the second selector member is rotated. A pair of spaced spring members are disposed between and respectively engage the selector members to tend to maintain the second selector member axially away from the first selector member. The first selector member has a cylindrical part extending therefrom and the second selector member has a C-shaped shaft rotatably disposed against the cylindrical part of the first selector member. A tang extends radially outwardly from the second selector member and is received between two spaced apart abutments on a surface of the support when the second selector member is in one rotational position thereof so that the second selector member is locked in that one rotational position until the second selector member is axially moved toward the first selector member a certain amount.
