Abstract:
A computer system with a pluggable drive carrier assembly comprises a cabinet and a circuit board disposed within the cabinet. The circuit board, such as a base board, has a number of connectors attached to a first surface. A drive unit such as a hard disk drive is secured within a carrier. A logic connector and a power connector are adapted to attach to the drive. A flexible circuit assembly connects the logic connector and the power connector to a blind plug. The blind plug is adapted to mate with any of the number of connectors. A cam surface and lever arrangement is used to urge into engagement the blind plug and the selected one of the number of connectors. The logic connector and the power connector both have a number of contacts that extend in a direction generally parallel to the first surface of the circuit board such that a backplane is not required and can be eliminated.

Abstract:
Intraoperative tissue treatment methods are used following the removal of target tissue, e. g. diseased tissue, from a target site, e. g. within a patients breast, leaving access to the target site. In one method an expandable element is introduced into and expanded within a void at the target site. If all of the target tissue was not removed, then a layer of tissue at least partially surrounding the expanded element is removed from the patient, preferably in a substantially intact form. In a second method the suction inlet of a suction device is in fluid communication with the void. If all of the target tissue has not been removed, at least a portion of the collapsed tissue is removed from the patient and analyzed. With a third method, a flexible implant is passed through the sheath and into the void to at least substantially fill the void.

Abstract:
Intraoperative tissue treatment methods are used following the removal of target tissue, e.g. diseased tissue, from a target site, e.g. within a patient's breast, leaving access to the target site. In one method an expandable element is introduced into and expanded within a void at the target site. If it is determined that all of the target tissue was not removed, then a layer of tissue at least partially surrounding the expanded element is removed from the patient, preferably in a substantially intact form, to permit inspection for evidence of the target tissue still within the patient. In a second method the suction inlet of a suction device is located so to be in fluid communication with the void. Fluid is then withdrawn through the suction inlet so to at least partially collapse the tissue defining the void. If it is determined that all of the target tissue has not been removed, at least a portion of the collapsed tissue is removed from the patient and analyzed for evidence of target tissue still within the patient. With a third method, the sheath is maintained along the passageway from the region external of the patient to the void at the target site. A flexible implant is passed through the sheath and into the void so to at least substantially fill the void. The sheath is then removed from the patient.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for selecting and setting clock frequencies for an electronic device are disclosed. Specifically, clock frequencies may be adjusted to avoid interference with input electromagnetic energy, often in radio frequency bands. Clock frequencies may be chosen to minimize signal interference and improve device performance. In some embodiments, clock frequency information is stored in one or more lookup tables in device memory. In certain embodiments, a system processor can access the information stored in the lookup table and instruct system circuitry to adjust clock frequency as needed based on lookup table entries.

Abstract:
Electronic devices may use buttons to gather user input. Button status monitoring circuits may be provided that apply a time-varying bias voltage to each button. The time-varying bias voltage may be held at a fixed non-zero level when the state of the button is being monitored and may be held at a level of zero volts when the state of the button is immaterial and is not being monitored. The reduction of the bias voltage across the button when the button is not being monitored prevents undesired acceleration in dendritic growth when the electronic device is exposed to moisture. The bias voltage may be pulsed by using a control circuit. The control circuit may generate a series of square wave pulses that are applied across the terminals.
