Abstract:

A system and method for transmitting IP packets arranged in an L×D matrix comprising data packets and L number of FEC packets, L corresponding to a number of columns in the matrix, and D corresponding to a number rows in the matrix includes assigning a first location in the matrix as an FEC packet location, skipping D number of locations in the matrix from the most recently assigned FEC packet location to a new location, and determining if the new location is positioned in the same column as an existing FEC packet location. The new location is assigned as an FEC packet location if it is determined that the new location is not positioned in the same column as an existing FEC packet location. If it is determined that the new location is positioned in the same column as an existing FEC packet location, then the location is moved back in the matrix until the moved-back location is not positioned in the same column as an existing FEC packet location, and the moved-back location is assigned as an FEC packet location. The skipping, determining, assigning, and moving back are repeatedly performed until the number of FEC packet locations is equal to L.

Abstract:

A cavity length control assembly for a ring laser gyro includes a mirror support to which a piezoelectric plate is mounted. The piezoelectric plate is mounted at a center post of the mirror support with a preload tension. An outer perimeter of the piezoelectric plate is supported against the perimeter of the mirror support, thereby permitting the piezoelectric plate to exert axial force against the perimeter, without being radially restrained at the perimeter.

Abstract:

A light emitter emits light through an offset opening in a concave collector to a reflector that reflects the light along a first path to coded indicia to be read in an electro-optical reader. Light reflected from the indicia is reflected by the reflector to the collector which, in turn, directs the reflected light in a second path extending across the first path to a light detector. The reflector is mounted on a resilient spring for oscillating movement.

Abstract:

A scanner module for use in a bar code reader has a scanning mirror which is mounted to a bracket by way of leaf-spring, allowing the mirror to oscillate in one direction. The bracket is hung from a stationary chassis by means of two strips of mylar film, allowing the entire bracket to oscillate in the perpendicular direction, thereby providing two dimensional oscillation of the mirror and raster scanning of a light beam reflected from the mirror. The mylar sheets are protected against mechanical shock by pins which pass through holes in the bracket. The pins are slightly smaller than the holes, allowing sufficient clearance for movement of the bracket during normal operation, but preventing too much stress being placed upon the mylar films if the module is dropped. The pins also provide accurate alignment of the bracket with respect to the chassis.
