Abstract:

Systems and methods for providing illumination suitable for imaging devices such as laser projection systems. In one embodiment, a highly collimated (e. g. , laser light) beam is passed through a holographic diffuser to create a well defined cone angle for the light emanating from each point on the diffuser. This light is focused into an illumination image that is controlled by the prescription of the diffuser. In one embodiment, the image is a uniformly intense rectangle having a 4:3 aspect ratio to match an imager for a projection display. The diffuser prescription and resulting illumination image can be selected to match any desired imager. The present systems and methods may provide the advantages of high level of light efficiency, reduction or elimination of speckle and worminess and reduction or elimination of cosine and gaussian intensity falloff, all of which are common in prior art designs.

Abstract:

This invention relates to a process for making mozzarella cheese using lactic acid as the acidifying agent. Mozzarella cheese is currently acidified with either vinegar or citric acid. Either of these ingredients add undesirable taste. Mozzarella cheese made with vinegar or citric acid has a shelf life of about 25 days. In order to supply fresh mozzarella cheese to supermarkets across the country, a shelf life of at least 30 days is highly advantageous. Lactic acid provides the fresh mozzarella with a natural taste, smooth texture and significantly longer shelf life.

The openings are covered by closure members and decorative trims once the cable is in place. The result is a modular computer system without unsightly wires, and in which the modules may be easily and quickly inserted or removed without the need for dismantling the cable attached to the backs of the other modules.

Abstract:

A cable or wire (information bus, power supply, etc. ) retention method and apparatus for modular computer cabinets and the like in which the cabinet frame end walls have notch-like voids. The preferred embodiment for a cable retainer has a frame member with two cantilever portions, which frame member is spot-welded to several struts at other (non-cantilever) portions. The top and bottom struts protrude the frame member, and are longer than the distance between the cabinet end walls. The cable retainer is connected to the cabinet by inserting one pivoting strut tip into a receiving hole and causing the cantilever portion nearest the receiving hole to deform (causing deeper penetration of the inserted tip) so that a clearance is obtained between the other pivot end and its corresponding receiving hole, prior to releasing the cable retainer. Insertion is completed by pivoting the cable retainer to an upright position to latch the latching ends in cabinet end wall grooves.

Abstract:

An apparatus for containment and alignment of wire terminations has a wire holder with a slidable retainer. The front of the wire holder has oval-shaped holes for partially receiving several oval-shaped wire terminations to be connected to electronic equipment, and for reducing rotational motion of the wire terminations. Smaller holes connected to the oval-shaped holes receive the wires, but prohibit further movement of the wire terminations into the wire holder so that wire terminations uniformly protrude from the wire holder. Slots at the back of the wire holder receive the wires, which wires are frictionally locked into place by the retainer.
