Abstract:
A lighting control and dimming system 10 utilizes a single traveler conductor for transmitting analog data signals corresponding to a particular light intensity level of dimmers DIM 1, DIM 2, DIM 3, DIM 4,. . . , DIM N in a dimmer group. A predetermined binary data word is retrieved from the read-only memory of a controller that may be remote from the dimmers, and is transmitted serially in an analog pulse train over the traveler conductor to each dimmer unit. Remote signaling and selection of a specific scene are performed independently of the phase of the applied AC line voltage by sampling the logic values of logic high to logic low and logic low to logic high transitions of a zero cross signal. Dimmers enabled by the transmitted analog data signal produce a predetermined scene at a particular brightness level corresponding with one of the stored binary numbers.

Abstract:
A lighting control and dimming system utilizes a single traveler conductor for transmitting analog data signals corresponding to a particular light intensity level of dimmers in a dimmer group. A predetermined binary data word is retrieved from the read-only memory of a remote controller and is transmitted serially in an analog pulse train over the traveler conductor to each dimmer unit. Each dimmer unit includes a microcontroller and read-only memory in which a group of binary numbers are stored. The analog data signal received by each dimmer is converted to binary and is compared bit-by-bit with each binary number stored in the dimmer memory. A serial bit comparator produces an enable signal in response to a bit-by-bit identity match between the converted analog data signal and the preset binary number stored in the dimmer ROM. Dimmers enabled by the transmitted analog data signal produce a predetermined scene at a particular brightness level corresponding with one of the stored binary numbers.
Protective Coating Process For Aluminum And Aluminum Alloys
A protective coating process is described for simultaneously sealing and priming the anodic coating applied to a metal compound without the need for elevated temperatures during a subsequent curing step. The process comprises the steps of anodizing the component to be coated, applying the coating composition at an elevated temperature of about 150 degrees F. to thereby simultaneously seal and prime the component and curing the sealed and primed component at ambient temperatures. If cross-linking agents are employed then elevated cure temperatures are utilized.

Abstract:
This specification discloses a mile post location system particularly useful with a vehicle having a citizens band radio. The system includes a keyboard having switches which are representative of numbered digits, such that the vehicle operator may input an initial mile post designation indicative of the present location of the vehicle. The keyboard further includes switches to enable the vehicle operator to input incrementing or decrementing instructions. A computer circuit is responsive to the operation of the keyboard switches in order to store the initial mile post designation and the incrementing or decrementing instructions. A transducer is responsive to the distance traveled by the vehicle in order to generate and apply signals to the computer circuit. In response thereto, the computer circuit causes the initial mile post designation to be incremented or decremented in accordance with the stored instructions. A display is responsive to the computer circuit for displaying to the vehicle operator the last mile post passed by the vehicle in order to enable the vehicle operator to broadcast his present location on the citizens band radio.

Abstract:
The specification discloses a mile post location system which can be adjusted in accordance with a particular vehicle having a citizens band radio. The system includes circuitry for generating a distance signal in response to rotation of a wheel of the vehicle. Switches are accessible to the vehicle operator for generating a predetermined reference signal dependent upon the diameter of a tire of the vehicle and being representative of a predetermined distance traveled by the vehicle. The system further includes electronic circuitry for comparing the distance signal with the reference signal and for generating an output signal representing the predetermined distance traveled by the vehicle when the distance signal equals the reference signal. A mileage setting device is accessible to the vehicle operator and includes numerical digit keys operable for generating input signals representative of an initial mile post designation to a calculator circuit. The calculator circuit is responsive to the input signals and the comparator electrical output signals for performing arithmetic calculations on the signals and for generating an electrical output signal representing the position of the vehicle relative to subsequent mile post designations.
