Abstract:

A machining cell and process for deburring root edges of a turbine blade. The machining cell defines a work area enclosing a robot to pick up and transport a blade package between working stations within the cell. A supply conveyor transports the part to an orienter station inside the cell where the part is checked for type and proper orientation prior to being picked up by the robot and moved to a deburring station. The robot manipulates the package into engagement with an active cutting tool to remove material from the root edges. The robot then transports the package to a brushing station located within the cell. The robot moves the package so that edges of the root are subjected to the abrasive action of a rotating brush wheel. The finished part is then transported by the robot to a discharge conveyor which feeds the finished part outside of the cell.

Abstract:

A planetary-type deburring arrangement for removing burrs associated with inside and outside edges of a metal workpiece. The deburring arrangement includes a planetary head arrangement having a carier which rotates about a central axis. The carrier mounts thereon at least three rotatable spindles disposed in a generally circular pattern about the central axis, and each spindle mounts thereon an abrasive disc having an end face constructed of an abrasive media for deburring the workpiece. A first drive arrangement causes rotation of the carrier about the central axis. A second drive arrangement, including a planetary arrangement, is coupled to each of the spindles to effect rotation of each spindle individually about its own axis, with at least one of the spindles being rotated in an opposite direction from the other spindles.

Abstract:

Pharmacy workflow management with alert integration. A pharmacy workflow management application may obtain alert data from an alert generation platform. In turn, the alert information may be provided to a user of the workflow management application within the application without having to divert from use of the application. The user may further utilize the pharmacy workflow application to access the alert generation platform. In this regard, the user of the pharmacy workflow management application may be in bidirectional communication with the alert generation platform to, for example, exchange resolution information in relation to an alert. The alert data may comprise any pertinent data related to pharmacy activity managed by the pharmacy workflow management application and in particular may include data related to infection control or antimicrobial stewardship.

Abstract:

A system for preparing and managing patient-specific dose orders includes an order processing server configured to receive the patient-specific dose orders, define a queue of dose orders and distribute the dose orders to at least one dose preparation station. The dose preparation station is in bi-directional communication with the order processing server and has an interface for providing an operator with a protocol associated with each received drug order and specifying a set of steps to fill the drug order. Steps to fill the drug order are captured at the station and a display, positionable independent of the station outputs the dose order queue and metrics concerning activity at the dose preparation station. Systems for preparing patient-specific doses and a method for telepharmacy in which data captured while following the protocol are provided to a remote site for review and approval by a pharmacist.
