Abstract:

An automatic gain control device () includes a peak detector () configured to receive a current output of an ADC () and to compare it to a previous output to produce a peak value. The automatic gain control device () also includes an out-of-range indicator () configured to receive an out-of-range signal if an input to the ADC exceeds the dynamic range of the ADC. The out-of-range indicator () increases the peak value if the out-of-range indicator () receives the out-of range signal. An error detector () is coupled to the out-of-range indicator () and the peak detector () and produces an error level that is the difference of an output of the out-of-range indicator () and a pre-selected target value. The pre-selected target value is chosen to attenuate interference signals that exceed the dynamic range of the ADC () but minimizes the attenuation of communication signals. An integrator () is coupled to the error detector () and sums the error level with an integrator value to determine a new integrator value.

Abstract:

A computer aided software engineering tool is disclosed which is particularly well adapted to identify potential Assembly language source code errors resulting from incorrectly used symbolic and literal address constructs. This objective is achieved by providing a debugging program which has a complete awareness of the specific machine interfaces, conventions and symbol sets. By essentially stepping through the Assembly language statements (without regard to neighboring statements), the debugging program is able, through such examination, to identify, in the Assembly language program under study, specific instances of the use of statements containing possibly incorrect symbolic or literal address constructs and to run closely related additional tests. The programmer may then examine the denoted Assembly language code to determine if a genuine error exists.

Abstract:

A computer aided software engineering tool is disclosed which is particularly well adapted to identify potential Assembly language source code errors resulting from the analysis of statements which do not contain incorrect syntax, limits, operand specification, etc. ; i. e. , do not contain any errors of the type which can be generally categorized as incorrect usage. This objective is achieved by providing a debugging program which has a complete awareness of the specific machine architecture, such as the function of each instruction and the register(s), flags, etc. it affects. By essentially stepping through the Assembly language statements in much the same manner as a computer would while executing the corresponding instructions, the debugging program is able, through such simulation, to identify, in the Assembly language program under study, specific potential inconsistencies with previous operations which the debugging program has been coded to detect and, upon such detection, to issue an appropriate warning message. The programmer may then examine the flagged Assembly language code to determine if a genuine error exists.

Abstract:

A numerically controlled oscillator (NCO) (10) or direct digital synthesizer (DSS) includes a phase accumulator (12, 28, 30), a phase to amplitude converter (24), and a digital to analog converter (26). The phase accumulator is partitioned into a high speed phase accumulator stage (44) and a low speed phase accumulator stage (46). The high speed stage (44) performs modulo accumulation on the most significant N. sub. M bits of the entire phase word. The low speed stage (46) performs modulo accumulation on the least significant N. sub. L bits of the entire phase word. The low speed stage (46) supplies a carry signal to the high speed stage (44). The low speed stage (46) operates with an accumulation period that is 2. sup. X times slower than the accumulation period for the high speed stage (44). A phase output is taken from the most significant N. sub.

Abstract:

An attachment bolt extends upwardly through a support member and threadedly engages the ball component of a coupling apparatus. A locking member extends downwardly through the ball component and cammingly engages the attachment bolt with the pitch different than the threaded engagement between the ball component and the attachment bolt. Engagement of the ball component within a complemental coupler component prevents access to and removal of the locking member.
