Abstract:

A comprehensive database system employs common medical terms, vocabularies and identifiers in identifying organizational characteristics as well as location availability and suitability for delivering services by a particular physician to a patient with particular medical conditions via a user friendly display interface. A system for managing healthcare data including codes, terms and identifiers supports operation of a healthcare enterprise. The system includes a first database including healthcare data including elements common to a plurality of healthcare organizations and derived from a plurality of different sources. The healthcare data common elements support use of consistent terminology between the plurality of organizations. A processor provides at least a portion of the healthcare data in the first database to a second database employed by at least one of the plurality of organizations in response to user command. The second database also supports use of user selectable items of healthcare data.

Abstract:

A dictionary system provides a term repository supporting the operation of an enterprise, which dynamically updates its content in response to system use. An input processor acquires transaction message data in at least one of a plurality of different data formats. A data processor parses the acquired transaction message data to extract a term from the message data. The processor then compares the extracted term to terms in a first term repository. The first term repository is updated to include the extracted term if the extracted term is absent from said first term repository. A communication processor intermittently processes the content of said first term repository to be suitable for communication to a second term repository.

Abstract:

A system, for processing patient medical information for storage in an electronic patient medical record repository, includes an interface, a repository, and a data processor. The interface receives data representing genomic information of a patient. The repository includes a patient record incorporating data representing genomic information specific to a particular patient. A data processor compares the genomic information specific to a particular patient with the received genomic information. The data processor identifies a genomic match in response to the comparison and predetermined matching criteria. The data processor initiates processing of patient record information specific to the particular patient in response to an identified match.

A repository, electrically coupled to the acquisition processor, includes data representing a plurality of different expected outcomes; an individual expected outcome has an expected outcome name and is characterized by expected outcome attributes; an individual expected outcome has a plurality of attribute properties determining how an expected outcome attribute is represented. Expected outcome attributes include a focus term indicating a topic of an expected outcome, an expected outcome likelihood term indicating an assessment of likelihood of the associated corresponding expected outcome, and a client term indicating at least one target person for care. The attribute properties include a format attribute property indicating a format constraint of an expected outcome attribute and a content attribute property indicating a content constraint of an expected outcome attribute.

A financial management system and method therefor enables an individual user to access and maintain healthcare records concerning encounters of an individual with a healthcare provider organization. The encounters include interactions of the individual with the healthcare provider organization that have a financial consequence. The financial management system includes an acquisition processor, a storage processor, a data processor, and an output processor. The acquisition processor receives, via electronic communication from a healthcare provider organization, information related to at least one healthcare encounter of an individual user. The storage processor stores the received healthcare encounter information. The data processor retrieves and processes the received healthcare encounter information to provide data, representing at least one record, indicating a history of encounters of the individual user with the healthcare provider organization.
